I'm not sure what you are asking. are you talking about your own images it it pulling from stock sources?

I thiik it looks ok if you want that sort of thing.

It's basically saying that no matter what you do to prep images, it's going to "fix" them so they "look better".

I've experienced this with FB uploaders from my iPhone. I SnapSeed-ed an image and as I went to upload it Facebook "fixed" it. I couldn't undo it so I emailed to myself and uploaded from there.

The machine knows best.

I'm a little disturbed when it seems to tell me I can "automatically" capture and publish anything on the web to my site, if I want more "content"... Seems to be encouraging theft...

THIS is precisely what I got from it as well. It sounded like you could import anything from anywhere and add it to your site.

I've got an email out to them to clarify. This obviously would NOT be something I would endorse.

how would it be any different than what occurs now? someone is still choosing what content to place on their site.

This makes it MUCH easier to point and click, "color correct it" so that it looks like it's part of the site, etc. Plus they're using it as a selling point for their product.

so we are to hold developers accountable because they make things easy? the onus will always be on the person who decides which content gets displayed. just because something can be used in a nefarious way, doesn't mean that it will all, most or even any of the time of the time. the purpose of this start up isn't to steal images and content, it's to make setting up and managing a website easy. even though most people wont read it, im sure their TOS will say the user is responsible for the content that gets uploaded and the will make the user check a box stating that they read it and agree. :P

I think facilitating that theft is the issue. They didn't invent image theft, but their video sure seems to emphasize that ease, without any disclaimer whatsoever. It's irresponsible. If they'd added just one word "your" (with regard to images), we wouldn't be having this conversation.

Exactly; in effect, they seem to be saying "Ciontent theft is the new reality, and have WE got an app for you! Anyone can look like a pro!"
