Hmm. I've tried deconvolution-based tools before, and frankly been underwhelmed. That said, I know that these tools have improved, and part of that is the computational power that is available. Site says they have a 14-day free trial, might give it a run and see if it's worth keeping around...

Please give us some feedback if you do that trial. I'm in the market for some software add ons, but my post processing skills are not strong enough to really give these different packages a good workout. As my funds are limited, I appreciate feedback from the more experienced and creative photographers!

I've just installed it. It's impressive, just knocked spots off the Nik Output Sharpener.

I get a much more natural result than I can achieve through other methods….

I may be buying.

Just on my laptop at the moment, I'll need to try with my main library and machine too.

This is an extraordinarily good tool. I'm stunned... It's taking a LONG time to process, though, I may not have it figured out yet. Plus, my a7r Sony generates HUGE files...

I did a trial of the Nik Output Sharpener and wasn't really impressed with my results. I figured it was "operator error" and I ran out of time to get up to speed with it during the trial period. Maybe my expectations were too high....

It is the most processor hungry application I've ever used.

Thinking about deconvolution of the point spread function, I figure there will be much stronger improvements on images created on cameras that have low pass filters. I've only tested it on Leica images so far - I'll give it a run on some 5D3 images. I'm expecting even better results.

That seems to bear out in the tests I've done so far - the software has the most effect on images taken on a camera that has a low pass filter.
