.

Still in the phase of moving my jewelry around to different lighting, shooting casually with the iPhone. The snakey one was shot in the laundry room, on top of the dryer. I kind of like it, tho it'd be better if I had controlled the DOF better. I don't like artificial light, I don't like shooting at f8, I don't like using a tripod...this is a huge challenge for me. I know I have to do it, I'm kind of backing into it. I seek creative relief in crafting a new piece of jewelry.

Thanks for any comments, including the ones encouraging me to try f8. "D

Didn't enter this challenge shot because it seemed too dark on my iPad but not too dark on the PC.

This drives me crazy too. I finally broke down and brightened my ipad a bit in the settings. (But this doesn't help anyone else who views on an ipad, so I too have not entered several shots.). It seems like some folks have crazy wonderful dark shots that are fine on both screens but I'm having a dickens on a time figuring out how they do it.

This week I am finally starting to edit my photos from the trip to Hawaii in January. I was inspired to start my editing with these images due to the Forum Post - Beth Moon - portraits of ancient trees. While my photos aren't close to hers in quality, looking at her remarkable images got me going on this project....

Week 11 Week 12....

Sunset on the Mississippi River, watching all the birds, saw 4 of my eagles, 4 cranes, a possum, 2 raccoons, even ducks, pelicans, geese, we now have a couple owls in the area too which I have been trying to hunt down, no luck yet, but I hear him hooten away like... ha ha you can't find me. Beacause of their hooten teasing, it is a goal to find them.
Trumpet swans was new this day which were rare to see in this area, but they were all wayyy too far out to capture with my camera, but you can all see them all in the river though.. kinda sorta, it was a magical sunset, just wish it was a magical photography capture to be closer. LOL

The only "shoot" I did during the third week of March - we have our granddaughter every other weekend and last time we took her to the park. Even though at three and a half she is plenty big enough for the "big kid" swings, we put her in these because she likes to be pushed so hard and high :)

Week 13

Right now we have inherited new family members Salt and Pepper. They are 3-4week baby black squirrels that was found when the neighbors cut down their tree. We found them as they were squealing for momma. The momma came and collected one, but never came back for these two, for now until momma comes back for them, we have adopted them and are feeding them and keeping them warm. We are hoping momma finds a new home and comes back for these guys.

Week 14:

Shot from the drone above our camp spot in the middle of the Tamar River, Tasmania.
For those of you sick of the Tasmanian shots we leave tomorrow back to mainland Australia and then head to central Europe in mid April.

The beautiful Smith River. Taken from the Hiochi Trail. I had a lovely day with my camera hiking to this vantage point. The nice thing about photographing on your own is nobody gets impatient if you stop every 40 feet because something has caught your eye to photograph.
