I couldn't get an entry in for last week so going to cheat and submit two this week....

The first reminded me of an advert for the porridge called 'Ready-Break' which always showed the glowing effects of eating it for breakfast.....

and the second is yet another dog. I'm sorry, it's just that when I run out of time I head up the hill to where I know I'll always find some four-legged subjects!

LOVE AH HA Moments, so excited and have a new burst of energy :-))

For the first time as I was out shooting this morning the sun was shining just right on the snow and on the ice, I had to snap a few.
It all snapped together with how things mush together as far as the ISO, metering, shutterspeed, Aperature. I always shoot in manual mode and have to usually check myself in auto just to make sure I am close to the settings.
I didn't even have to put it in auto to check myself nor did I have to second guess, it was just there.
I understood the charts said, what things meant, how friends explained it to me, but to actually have it click it's a beautiful thing!

Not sure on how long it took all you but I felt really slow trying to make sense of everything, but now to have it snap together, nothing can be better. What was even better was I hardly had to touch lightroom to majorily adjust things, just add a bit of contrast, sharpen just a bit the only thing now was that the lens is broke and was not focusing at all. Not sure what that is about and it wouldn't even zoom in or out but it would allow me to pull it out and then back in... but its going in the shop this weekend, please forgive the unfocus hot mess :-)
I was just excited about the lighting and knowing how to adjust the settings properly LOL

It was the first time I used anything above a F16

As always, it's great fun to see the different versions of this Photo a Week thread.

here's my Abstract #5

For those who are guessing what the original might have been (and some guesses have been spot on),
this one will probably
be easy, but it was an astonishing discovery at the time.

Another guilty one here. Although I did try to do some comments last night and what I typed remained blank with some of the blank space underlined in red as though I'd made a spelling mistake.

February, Week 2 - a self portrait
I liked the result of my husband's portrait a couple of weeks ago well enough to try it again today on myself. Need something new for my avatar here and elsewhere.

Week 7

Captured an eagle with a fish, This was a hard shot... this best out of 20..the only downfall was the branches/bushes were being in the way and I could not get closer to the water because it was so thick.. LOL I was still happy that it captured the eagles and didn't focus on the branches. Love my telephoto!
