What about a challenge of one thing that has be WAY overdone, like the good ol' waterdrop. I think it would be interesting to see everyone try and put a new twist on the oldie but a goodie. I think there could be some surpises out of it. I personally think great images come out of beating the dead horse. When working one ones own project, the good stuff doens't come until the idea is used, reused, and overused again... then something new and interesting often comes out.

Or maybe, speaking of overdone, doing a challenge of only:

1) Flowers
2) Leaves
3) Sunsets and/or sunrises
4) Pets

I like it, too! It will give us newbies a chance to submit something that everybody else has already done!

I think a water drop challenge would be a great idea also. It would force some unique views and probably produce a lot of great photos.

I think they're all great ideas! Something that will get quite a lot of submissions!

Whenever I see something that has been "overdone" but in a whole new exciting way (to me), it is even MORE impressive than ever because I know how much had to overcome to hit me anew all over again. That is one reason a really exceptional "flower" shot will sometimes wow us all so much - we know it has to be really special if it is causing us to go WOW after having seen so many. You get the idea.

I think it's a great idea, even though I ticked one guy off the first time I tried the technique. He wrote, "I can´t belive it.....i gonna rate you 1 for use this idea. This is enough." I did get several nice comments on the photo though...

I'd like to try the technique again.

Kinda like cliches, but cliches included stuff like "roses on valentine's day" etc. not just photographic cliches.

How about a challenge for 'Overdone Photographs, Remixed!' or something. Water drops, flowers, bugs, and NOW, breaking light bulbs.

Just looked at this - there are some awesome shots here. Less processing and great captures. And mostly with simple cameras by today's standards.

That's what I thought too ... but it's tough ... very high scoring - 6.000 is number 51!

its a good idea, but it should be made general. it would be annoying voting on 200 waterdrops, while cliches bring out more variety and "originality" (trying to made a used shot creative... again)

yeah i agree, a challenge like cliche's would give us more originality to work with, but i think it would be fun to confine all the entries into a subject like water drops, to get a large variety (or lack thereof) of a very similar thing, make us WORK at figuring out how to do something different.

Hows about a challenge where you can't use neatimage that would throw up some interesting results.
