I seem to be on a photography hiatus so I don't have an essay this time but i am looking forward to everyone's essays and plan to comment. Hopefully I have something for the next one in 2 months. Thanks Henry for keeping this going.

Excellent collection of essays this month. It's early so hopefully we'll get a few more. I'll start commenting soon. Thanks everybody for the essays and comments.

Happy Halloween!

I'm finalising mine, should have something tomorrow. Been travelling on business most of October so today's the first time in 2 weekends I've been at home :)

Anybody in for December? With the holiday season upon us, time is limited. Good luck everybody.

For 2016 should we consider making any changes to this side challenge?

How do I comment on your last photo essay?

With honesty, integrity and an open mind? click on the image not the link or send me lots of money and I'll do the rest.

Being Australian doesn't make you Peter Lik.

We've decided he's more Hollywood than Aussie. ;)

Peter Lik's website's name is [partyly] Luxury photography. Hmmm... My wife does not even bring my flash disk from the computer to the camera for me.

How luxurious is your photographic life, John? C'mon, out with it. All your Aussies are the same.....

Too much gear and too little time. I will never be, or aspire to be, a PL. I just plod and enjoy the frustration. He works his game, all credit to him for the commitment. I don't think there is a typical Aussie with a luxurious life, but there are some damn good ones.

I've been lurking all this time. Not having anything to say. But now I do. I'm pretty sure I'll have one ready for December.

Not much room left for us blokes thinking about putting together a travel B&W essay, as that image is an essay in itself.

I still have 3 half-done essays from Aug-Oct, but my Desember one is ready. Going on holiday now, may just be able to nudge one of those lame horses across the winning post as well, now that I'll have some free time.

Herman, I hope you don't believe this. There are stories all around us. Get out and take some pictures. I always enjoy the photo essays you post.

I'm glad you appreciated this image. Maybe inspired by Robert Frost's "The Road Not Taken"? I don't know but found that narrow road through the rice fields interesting. Did I take that path? well, that doesn't really matter. Seemed like a nice image to thank you and the other essayists for keeping this thing alive.

Henry, It was really meant as a complement, I am too thick-headed too be put off by another person's good work. hehe.

Thanks for keeping the thread going.

So far I have viewed the winners... all worthy, gripping and journalistic in nature. I will continue to peruse. Henry, did you enter anything? Your Robert Frost image is compelling as a stand alone.. looking forward to the series, if there is one coming.

I like it.
I would love any travel essay. I am a HUGE fan of literary travel essays and have an enormous library on the subject. Waiting for the pictorial ones.
