Whew... this is going to be a painful challenge for me. ;)

One of my Stopped Motion Outakes was a photo I took for team sports action. I like the tongue foot coordination, so had to share it. I can't share my other outtake at this time, it was one I may use for Touch.

-_- I think it's just low voting time...at least I HOPE...cause mine's taking a hit at 4.0-4.3 and I spent so much time on it that it would just hurt if it scores that low.

Umm..
Then I better not say anything about hitting a 7.0833.. eek :)

Yay!
(I'm really excited, certain people are just *barely* putting up with me at DPFanatics.. lol)

Hm, were exactly do I find DPF? I've heard it mentioned and such...

There are a few very innovative shots that deserve a close look -- some gems among the gravel -- and a few where the degree of difficulty is pretty high. This is going to be fun to score!!!

Your the first person I have seen here mention degree of difficulty!

Do others consider DOD in their voting?

For a challenge of this nature? Absolutely. I wouldn't consider it as a *high* determinator.. but it would definitely be considered.

I have voted high if I feel it was difficult shot to take. Looking at my voting patterns on the last few challenge, I tend to give bonus points for creativity and DOD.

My image is.... different from the other entries, as I see it, and it's suffering for that (I knew it would, I was sort of going for comments... but I'm not getting any). I think the degree of difficulty is also lowering the score, as it's a very easy sort of shot to take. But I hope people will consider the quality and clarity of photos as well when deciding on how to score. :)

Whew... just fell .3 in two reloads... brutal :) Not sure I'll hang on to a 5 this time.

I dropped 0.2 in last 4 votes... looks like I got a bunch of 2s or 3s
I better sleep now

Although there is a lot of waterdrops photos, there are a lot og them that you can't say that are a like, some are so much better than others.
09/20/2004 03:35:57 AM · #20
Yes, I would like to see some more originality, but it does not only apply to the water drops.

I think it is unfair to single out a particular type of image while the voting is still going on, what about all those shots of airplanes, helicopters, sports, birds etc etc etc ?

p.s. I did not submit.

Absolutely not - it has nothing to do with the quality of the finished image. A good photo can be one grabbed in an instant as a passer-by, or one that's taken years of planning and mountains of patience.

I don't think that because a shot is different it gets voted low. The shots i have voted highest are totally different from the rest, or are a common theme with a degree of originality, and all great shots.

I think this challenge is definitley an advantage for people with good gear. I had problems with my shot as my camera does 2 images per second & maximum of 3. If I had something that could take 8 fps for 25 shots (What could that be?) It would have been easier. That said it was a fun challenge, I messed my photo up through inexperience, but Hopefully I have learnt something. Still over 5.0

Think positive, you get more challenge for money.
