I wasn't impressed with this challenge whatsoever. First challenge in about 20 where I only had one 10 given.

I did hit an even 6.0000 at 10 votes, but have been bouncing between 5.9 and 5.6 for the last 19.. My mirrors challenge also started out almost exactly like this, and it's currently at 5.79.. so we'll have to see.

To be honest.. this is *MUCH* higher than I ever thought it would get... but the real telling is when it hits 80 - 90 votes.

I think this is great. I'm happy if I get over 5 on anything. But some meaningful comments would be good

Hi I did take an afternoon to take shots for this theme at my sons football match, but felt underwhelmed with my pics I thought mine would be much of a muchness amongst so many other football shots so I stayed out of this challenge! Many of the shots are much of a muchness as I glance through them, I like the shots mostly which are non football, having said that there are some great captures and facial expressions!! I had so much more fun voting on the mirrors and backlit challenge. Maybe I'm not a big sport fan :) Anyhow good luck to all of you that entered!

has anyone else noticed that one of the submissions totally refuses to display itself, either as a thumbnail or something full size? what's going on there, then?

I did a copy paste into my image editing software, since I was just as confused. It is in fact a solid grey image. I gave it a "1" personally, after checking it out.

I think what turns me off to most of the images is seeing the backs of people, you've got to have facial expressions to get a good capture as a general rule.

All I ask it that it ends better than my average as that is my goal. To improve.

Thank God the next 16 people didnt think it was my worst effort yet. It isnt a football/basketball/baseball shot, but hey, you can play it 2 against 2.

This is a personal view and I don't like to see these sort of comments made during the voting as it may influence some people.
Not trying to flame ok. Just feel we need to consider our comments in these threads carefully during the voting period.

Yes it is a personal view.

And you're right, I should've said it before the challenge, as we would've had a ton better photos for the challenge.

How's everyone doing? Mine's gone up ~0.2 since I checked earlier..

I've given out quite a few 7-9's, so some people must be doing well. :-)

I think sports photos are difficult as you have a very finite window of opportunity to take the shot...as opposed to studio shots, some landscape shots, etc.

Overall, after a very quick glance through the photos I was fairly impressed with them. Sure, there won't be a lot of 10's (I rarely give those out anyway) but I certainly won't be handing out as many 3's and 4's as I have in a few previous challenges...

I didn't enter this challenge, so perhaps that makes it more relaxing to vote on as well...

Am really pleased, started in the very low 5's but has gradually crept up to

Quite happy at the moment as to where my score is running, but I guess the acid test comes at the end of the week...

I feel pretty good since I wasn't very happy with the shot. It was still the best of about 50 shots of the same team sport/match.
