...I think it might be ME!
June 12th of this year I will be here 10 years with a short break last year.

No Blue
No Red
No Yellow
No Top 5
Not even a brown
Not even a DNMC Ribbon

Wow. Can anyone top that!

LOL

Dude! You didn't even get one of these: participation awards! I think you win. ;-)

Ouch..... that is sad :-(

You have me beat by 12 days, but I've been on break more often than not.

Da-yam! That's one hell of an achievement. Perhaps Art can design a ribbon just 'specially for y'all.

You got 9th in a challenge with 534 entries? That's quite an achievement!! Congrats!

I'm at 10 years today, but I have two fourth place finishes.

Maybe you should get a ribbon for this.

I'll be 12 years on June 11 and no 'real' ribbons either. However I do have a couple of honourable mentions, two joke ribbons (DNMC and Rubber Ducky) and a brown.

I don't want an honorary ribbon I'm determined to win a real ribbon. It may take another 10 years or so but I will do it. :)

If I can do it, you can do it. :D

Don't even JOKE about that :-(

Another way of looking at this would be total number of challenges entered. For instance 10-12 years with only a few entries is not the same as 2-3 years with lots of entries.

So who has the most entries with no or only 1 or 2 ribbons?

PS: My "score" is 2 ribbons in 193 challenges so I can only brag/complain a little :)

I'd bet hajeka has it in one of his charts/tables somewhere.

Very valid point. At the other end of the scale, people sometimes think "Whoa, Bear (or whoever) has a LOT of ribbons!" but 38 ribbons in 1100-odd challenges is roughly one every 30 challenges. Wendy has 96 ribbons in 675 challenges, so that's one every 7 challenges. And don't even MENTION Gyaban, who has ribboned in over HALF the challenges he's entered; 104-for-193.

Scott, by that metric you've only entered about 10% of the challenges I have, and you've been around even longer than me, so there's hope for you yet :-)

The hands-down champions in the no-ribbon category were GeneralE and Posthumous, but they've both gotten theirs relatively recently... Whiterook's entered 445 challenges and tops out at 16th place...

Sep. 26th 2003

almost ten years to the day.

I know you just joking. Believe it or not I have never (to my recollection) let someone see my entry for advice purposes. I just go out and shoot and try my best.
No excuses but my lack of mobility may play a roll. I would love to go walking and get to some of the good places and better angles. Most of my photos are taken from inside my car or very close to my car. Maybe I should get a scooter :)

I'm afraid I might have you beat, Scott. 10 years Mar. 15th.... Wow ..... My pictures would have to be at strange angles right now as I am recovering from shoulder surgery and can't yet hold my camera with both hands. I guess that might actually be better! Anyway, glad to see you are back and I look forward to seeing your work :)

I just passed my 12 year mark -- 620 entries, 5 ribbons (one every 124 or so), but only one of those was in the most recent 8 years (and it was 3 years ago).

I'd like to think of this as the most persistent without reward contest rather than the I suck worse than you do contest...

I've only been around since April 2007, but have entered 641 challenges. I have one top 10 finish (Oct 2011). Average score is 4.9489 (c'mon 4.95!). I try to not count the browns, but I have a few (let's just say I have more browns than top 20 finishes. Some, in retrospect, very well deserved). My highest (lowest) place finish was 853rd.

The best thing about participating in DPC is the people. Thanks to all those who have taken the time to give me feedback and suggestions. Not just that, but it is wonderful to see the community's response to folks we've lost and to those going through hard, hard times.

This is the best community of friends a person could have. So diverse but care so much for each other.
