I love scotch. I'm currently over indulging in said product, however that *is* a wonderful thing. I also love red wine. A good Shiraz normally. Unfortunately, the supply of good Shiraz has been depleted (possibly due to my over indulgence in Shiraz) and I'm, ahem, *reduced* to imbibing scotch.
What's your favourite tipple? |

Gentlemen Jack on rocks or plain old JD works just as well is my go to for any occasion
Extra Dirty Martini (preferable kettle one or grey goose) if im feeling sophisticated
any full bodied Red Wine, with dinner
Cask aged stouts (in bourbon or rum barrels), just because |

Oh, where to begin??
I don't really drink much, but when I do it better be "the good stuff." Some of my favorite liquid vices:
- Red wines, especially really good zins
- Really good micro-brews (I am currently on an IPA kick)
- Scotch, specifically the peatier, smokier varieties. Lagavulin is my personal favorite
- Small-batch artisan vodka, gin, rum... some of my favorites are local to me, from here (site requires age verification)

Try Hop-Nosh IPA brewed by Uinta Brewing Co. in Utah. It's tough to find but very nice! |

A long time ago I was a huge fan of Vodka. I even remember one special night: I was at the party of a heavy metal magazine, after drinking 5 vodkas my friends convinced me to go on stage and sing with the band which was playing. The ones who dared to go on stage could win a few gadgets. I was soooo drunk that I couldn't remember the lyrics of the song (not sure but I guess it was Sabbath bloody sabbath of Black Sabbath) so I kept screaming all the time... funny, at least for the audience.
Now I go with beer and white wine :) |

When I was a drinking man, those were my go-to's also. And I've always liked wine. I rarely drink now. |

| A long time ago, Tequila was my favorite, then one night I had way too much and got so sick I was hung over for 2 days. Even to this day, whenever I even smell tequila, I feel like vomiting. |

Any good gin, big gin & tonic fan.
Also for you rum drinkers I've been drinking Sailor Jerry rum for a few years.
If you haven't tried it give it a go. |

I like IPA's too. It's hard to beat a Bell's Two-Hearted.
At home, I usually drink whatever I made last, so lately, that's a nice brown ale or my souped up cider (14%)
In the summer, I like a wheat beer like Bell's Oberon or something light, like Oarsman.
Boulevard in Kansas City makes a great Wheat beer too, as does Freestate in KS |

That's how I get with tequila I can't even smell it. Same thing I went toe to toe with Mr. Tequila and got my
ass kicked. I will never fight him again.
Mike gin is funny that way it's a love hate thing. Seems people either like gin or don't like gin. Very few in between. |

never heard of Bell's, i'll keep my eye open. The big problem with Craft beer is the limited distribution area.
actually we should start a beer swapping thread with beers from our local breweries. i used to have a bunch of those beer of the month shipping boxes.

i forgot to add for shots... patron. if the girl cant handle straight tequila, baby Guinness, it's patron cafe with a bit of baileys on top so it looks like a little Guinness stout in a shot glass. awesome and powerful, in fact quite dangerous, easy to drink, i mean very easy to drink for a shot with that much alcohol.
tequila makes the clothes just fall off.

What I drink depends on where I am.
In Germany, definitely weissbier and most other places in Europe wines. In Australia, definitely wine from New Zealand. :O)
When at home, I have to recognize the fact that people are watching, and that there is an expectation that old geezers like me drink only warm milk ... so I oblige. :O)

Oh god.
So...
Beer:
Spendy: Deschutes Brewery, Birthday brew (Look for Deschutes XXV for last year's batch)
Less Spendy: Negro Modelo or a Belgian style
Wine:
Spendy: Bordeaux style, preferably Cabernet Sauvignon/Merlot/Cab Franc blends, or similar.
Less Spendy: California or South American reds, typically bigger bolder stuff, but this is a place where I have a lot of 'favorites' and my choice will be largely driven by pairing.
Sparkling:
Spendy: No. I don't like to blow big money on champagne - Veuve Clicquot is about my top end here, and a good choice.
Less Spendy: Paringa Sparkling Shiraz - Amazing stuff
Liquors:
Rum: Ron Zacapa
Tequila: Aha Toro (Artisanal, the newer stuff isn't nearly as good... Thank goodness I have a stockpile)
Whiskey: Bookers
Vodka: Titos
Scotch: Laphroaig
Gin: g-Vine (This is variable, I like a few different gins, but each has a very distinct character)
.. I could go on, I have pretty strong views and preferences on most types of alcoholic beverages, but the above covers about 90% of my drinking habits.
ETA: Mixed drinks:
Old Fashioned (with Bookers)
Mojito (so easy to drink and strong that it's dangerous)
Martini (Vesper)

Holy cow, you're a total hop-head. Those are some of my very least favorite!! Of course, I rarely meet an IPA I like - probably my least favorite style of beer.

youare correct, im actually right now drinking a Mission Shipwrecked double IPA that i picked up in a liqueur store in nevada last week, fantastic!
my two favorite beers currently are Goose Island Bourbon County (which is expensive and nearly impossible to find, and Fegley's Insidious, the former is a porter and the latter a stout, both aged in bourbon barrels.
