Our little buddy Porkchop, a 19 lb Bichon-Shih Tzu mix, is having recurring prostate issues at 6 years, and so it is that we are planning on having him neutered. He's gonna lose 'em in the next two weeks, as close as we can schedule the operation to the end of the course of antibiotics. Now, he's never going to really know the difference, except he won't have 'em to lick, but to retain "cosmetic wholeness" I've actually been considering neuticles.
So, am I nuts? My wife tells me I am. Should I listen to her, or "grow a pair?" Help me decide!

The topic really is...are Neuticles Nuts? ;)

If it's expensive, it's probably not worth it. And like Breast Implants that leaked, who's to say "how safe" they really are in the long run.

The dog won't care, so it's really about what you think. Depends on how hard or easy it would be on you financially.

yes, the fact that you are even admitting in a public forum, on the internet, this thought entered your mind, proves the point.

For now, let's say that the cost is not a consideration... as for long-term effects, they are solid, so no chance of leakage, and have a very low rate of complications (well under 1%).

He will forget his junk the second you give him a new treat. Really, they have a 10 second attention span... Unless you like the look.... ooooh don't go there. ;D

You CANNOT be serious? Tell me you're not. I suggest donating the cost of a set of neuticles to nearest food pantry, or other charity to help the unfortunate of your region: I promise you they'll appreciate it more than the dog will...

Am I serious? Well, I seriously wanted to post this thread, given that it's Dog Week at DPC, LOL. I will neither confirm nor deny the seriousness of my consideration of said silicone silliness.

I suppose I could make a non-perishable food donation instead... perhaps some canned nuts?

Darn. I was hoping the picture would be a "before" picture, and that you'd post the "after" picture later. But see you just posted a picture of the dog's HEAD. What good is that?

In all seriousness, one of the guys at work is getting his lab neutered next week. One of the other guys at work was advocating for these. So far the dog's owner hasn't been swayed. Or something.

The question is really who is concerned with "cosmetic wholeness". 'Cause dogs are, you know, SQUIRREL!!!
