I think it would be nice if there were a feature that let you mark current vote photos for follow-up. Sometimes I come across photos that I want to come back to and a feature like this would be helpful in locating these photographs.

I agree with Bryan, that would be useful - especially when you have over 200 photos.

Bryan, that's not a bad idea. I often look up shots after the contest to see how they placed, were my comments "in line" with others' and so forth. Simple suggestion: e-mail yourself.
We just finished watching a safety video, where the speaker re-inforced the take responsibility for your own lives speech. (guess it's still in my head)
How about this slight twist on your idea - Could we add shots to our favorites during the voting week?

This would have 'anonymity' problems... Once you add them to favorites, I think you'd see who submitted. The list of "Favorite Photos" has a column for the photographer.

Just guessing...

And you are relating this to dpchallenge... have you posted in the addicted forum? ;0)

No, 'cause others would possibly see them during the vote. (did someone say conspiracy?) ;0) Sorry - still laughing at the other forum...

BTW: I like the flagging the photos idea, but it's still easy enough to flip thru the results...

My idea was not to use this for results of a challenge, but for a current challenge that is open for voting. Something like a checkbox on the individual photo page that says something like "Flag for further review" or something like that. Then when you went to your "vote now" page these marked photos would show up in a special section, say, at the bottom or something. I don't think these would necessarily need to be preserved after voting is closed. The main reason is that I sometimes mark a photograph that I want to look at further a "1" so that it shows up at the bottom. If something happens and I can't get back to voting, this person unfairly receives a "1" from me.

Myqyl - I guess you are right. I was brainstorming and typing at the same time. (didn''t know that brainstorming isn''t thinking did you!)

Karen - I''m a sucker for good "tag" lines. No, I have avoided the addicted thread, it might feed my problem more. I am here most all of the time, but I try to keep quiet in the forums, mostly (grin).

Bryan - sorry, I missed your second comment. Yes, that is different than how I interpretted your first post.

I understand. I just was commenting on photos being added to your favorites during the voting. Tagging for personal reference I have no problem with. Just didn't want to add to the admin's workload for a little convenience thing when the challenge results are available anytime.

I have been thinking more about this subject today. If a flag box was checked, the flags could be tallied. The photo with the most tallies would be the challenge featured photo for discussion at the end of voting. This would be an opportunity for learning for both the photographer and the community. Not trying to make more work for the admins, but just trying to answer the call for discussion.
Any thoughts?
