Great article about Richard Sherman. Make sure you watch the second video. Manning had better play the best game of his life if he's to have a chance.

Just a little more stat digging.

In the regular season Denver never played a defense close to Seattle and Seattle really never played an offense close to Denver.

Denver played 4 games against Top 10 defenses by DVOA: Giants (6th), Baltimore (7th), and KC twice (9th). Their DVOAs range from -12 to -7. Seattle's DVOA was -26.

Seattle played 4 games against Top 10 offenses by DVOA: New Orleans (5th), San Francisco twice (8th), and Carolina (10th). Their DVOAs range from 16 to 8. Denver's DVOA is 34.

On the other hand Denver feasted on poor teams playing 7 games against bottom 10 defenses. Seattle only played 3 games against bottom 10 defenses. Denver played 6 games against bottom 10 offenses while Seattle played 4.

It's likely he'll be cleared to play, and he brings speed to the outside attack (on sweeps and end arounds) to balance Lynch up the middle. The monster that Denver has in the middle could plug up Lynch, but if Harvin and Wilson can use speed and gain some ground on the outside, Denver will have to respect that and spread out a bit more, giving Lynch some room in the gaps.

Seattle's passing game isn't really too much more than lulling the secondary to sleep and capitalizing on inattentiveness or lack of sticking with a play when Wilson starts scrambling.

For Denver I don't see any way to stop Manning. If anyone can do it, it's Seattle, but I wouldn't bet on him going for less than 300-something and a couple scores.

That said, I think Seattle can hold them to under 30. Holding them under 30, a couple sustained scoring drives from Wilson and co, possibly some short-field gifts from turnovers from their defense, and solid special teams play with good field position coverage and decent returns means this is going to be a very tight and excellent game. Really looking forward to it.

Not a bad idea. Still, it wouldn't have worked against NO. He got hit before, during and after every play, whether he the ball or not.

Boeing moved their corporate headquarters to Chicago and continually threatens to move all production out of Seattle out of pure greed. So they seem a little disingenuous as being so pro Seahawks.

Weather forecast now says 50 degrees, no precipitation, light winds. Pretty much the best it could possibly be for Manning.

I think Seattle needs a two-score lead late in the game to have any hope of winning, as Manning has last-drive heroics written all over him. Denver's defense is good enough to keep Seattle's offense in check, not to mention Seattle has been starting really slowly on offense lately. I really think it's Denver's game to lose.

I would be more optimistic for Seattle if Denver had shown any sign of ever having an off day this season, but they really haven't. There was only one game where their offense failed to fully click, and that was against San Diego, where the Chargers had nearly double Denver's time of possession. Hard to imagine that happening again. Even then they only lost by a touchdown.

It's also hard to argue with the Year of the Horse. Seriously?! On super bowl weekend (essentially) it becomes the Year of the Horse? There isn't even the possibility of a Year of the Seahawk (as any Seattle fan could have told you), or any bird, for that matter. Doesn't look good.

I fully expect to be crying in my beer, but still: GO HAWKS!

Don't look to the chargers game Bohemia, look to the Jacksonville game. Where was Gus Bradley last year? Seattle. So imagine the Jaguar gameplan that held the Broncos in check for almost three quarters except executed with vastly better players.
