Steve and I will likely come. Sounds like fun.

So, there are at least 3 parades on Saturday and another on Sunday. I vote to do something else on Sunday. Any ideas? Caddo Lake sounds close enough and pretty interesting. Getting up early and exploring the morning away and maybe drive back mid afternoon on Sunday sounds perfect.

What else is there to do?

Ok, here is what I propose. Weekend of 1-2 Mar, come in Fri night (28 Feb) if you want. If you have a camper we can hook you up to a 15 amp circuit and get you water. If you want to tent camp we can get that too. We have 13 acres of wooded land. If you have sleeping bags we have plenty of floor space and plenty of bathrooms. If you want McDonalds, Taco Bell, or Starbucks they are all over 20 miles away from the house.

Here is what I suggest for a schedule.

Sat Morning: Flagg Lake and the Linear Air Park
Sat Afternoon: Street walking prior to the parade and then the parade
Sun Morning: Breakfast and lake shooting at the house and if the weather is cool we can have a bonfire
Sun Lunch: BBQ on me!

Other things to do! There are casinos downtown Bossier and Shreveport. They only made 200 Million last month and are complaining. You could help contribute to the local economy.

Please post and so we can modify if necessary!

Man, I love DPC!

Oh, and we are out of city limits and if you want to air your frustrations by shooting guns, bring them! Bring targets.

We have Cardinals, Hawks, Eagles, multiple types of Finches, Deer, etc. That's here at the house.

For the parade you will need a 5-300 mm F1.8 to cover all the situations that you will encounter during the day! :-)

...oh and I only have a few dead trees left if you want to try your hand at being a lumber jack. I have the chain saw and the log splitter to help you.

There is a barge that goes around Caddo Lake for photographers. If that is available would anyone be interested? I think we could book it just for us.

Change: thing to think

Great Kat! I need everyone to post if they are using cots/sleeping bags at the house, camping, or if they are going to get a room in Bossier.

When I get confirmations I will start adding everyone's name to the first post.

eta: Adam bring the AR, we can shoot more than pics!

That sounds great. Not sure about sleeping arrangements. I don't camp much anymore but still would love to stay where everyone else is. Did find this place though if we need to sleep a few if it's available.

Free us always good too. What's the weather there usually like then?

Weather.com says the average high temp is 64, with an average low temp is 44. This year Mardi Gras is pretty late in the year so we should have pretty mild temps.

I am thinking about just a good walk around lens

Do you have 50mm 1.8? Inexpensive lens but good, about $100 or so. You'll be walking a lot anyway so zoom with your legs.

I was planning on renting an L lens...all I have is a kit lens and would like to try before I buy. I think it is time for an upgrade
