Gawd it does my heart good to see posyings like this... From the DK's to Nick Drake, Broken Social Scene to Mogwai to Dwight Yoakam & (gasp) Marty Robbins! Man, you guys just made my day a little better. Glad to see I'm not the only music dork here.

I once heard a joke wher the puchline was: "a photographer? what restaurant?"

Having said that, I just got home from applying at a fancy restaurant in town. The cd in my player ws a Coldplay B-sides comp a pal made for me. The cover of Echo and the Bunnymen's "Lips Like Sugar" makes me happy.

I'm getting my cd's together for a beach trip tonight. Her Space Holiday, Soundgarden, and of course Bob will be riding along. Anybody here like Chet Baker?

Right now I'm listing to MP3s (Rush, Peter Gabriel, U2, Killswitch Engage, Orbital.. all over the place), but the last full CD I listened to was probably Faithless - No Roots.

Wow - there is a lot of great diversity in the music listened to! A lot of it I haven't even heard of. I am curious about Progidy.

The one common name I saw crop up a few times is U2. I have actually grown away from them in recent years, not liking their last couple CD's, but I used to eat, sleep and breath them - and I am anxious to see their new one due out next month I think.

In my other CD player:

Sergei Prokoviev: Romeo & Juliet, especially the Ball parts, dance of the knights and when the guests leave are my favourites. Still need to get my hands on some really good Chopin stuff.

Sugarcubes's "it's it" (CD2) is in my car's CD player (Björks's old band).

In my 3xCD player at work where I listen the most to cd's I now have:

The Cure; "Mixed Up"
The Cure; "Boys don't cry"
The Cardigans; "Gran Turismo"

it changes frequently just depending on my mood, but currently in my car i have--

1. Brandon -- (the cellist from the picture in my portfolio)
2. Radiohead -- 'the bends'
3. total random mix i made with all kinds of stuff from mogwai, bauhaus, sonic youth, suicidal tendencies, ween, slayer, rabbit in the moon, bjork...you name it! :)
4. old school punk mix i made with black flag, misfits, dead kennedys, cramps, ramones etc.
5. another mix of just Diana Krall and Harry Connick Jr. songs
6. The Grey Album (DJ Dangermouse's trippy mix of Jay Z's Black album and the Beatles White album)

and in my home cd player i currently have in Ray Charles -- 'genius loves company' which is just awesome.

CDs? Whazzat? Just kidding. I hardly listen to CDs anymore since I got XM. It's really cool listening to the same stuff/genre between LA and Vegas or at least access to the same stations no matter where I am.

Aahhh, yes...it was only a matter of time before I found another. Very good selection!

In fact, I just swapped Sonic Nurse out of my car cd player for 'You forgot it in people' on the way home from work today...
