I have only been here a few months but never seen a ribbon winner that didn't receive any one's, two's or three's.

So what does that mean I would not have a clue, better ask the maths guy.

I'm pretty sure it means that everyone (even the usual low-voters) thought it was a pretty decent photograph.

Wow - even the curmudgeons agree on that shot. :-) That's probably a bigger accomplishment than winning the ribbon!

Standard deviation? :)
Maybe low-voters didn't pay much attention to it... lucky me :)

Good work on that photo, ivash! You deserved that ribbon and all the good votes along with it!

I think that jjbeguin also has a few that people just couldn't bring themselves to award any low scores!

There's probably a few more, but I haven't quite memorized everything about his entire portfolio yet!

Blowing my own trumpet, but 9th with no 1, 2, or 3

Noticed something interesting... the 3 exquisite photos referenced above are all from photographers living outisde the United States. To take it further, I've noticed alot of the Euro folks are extremely talented. Must be something in the air over there or something :-)

I have a hypothesis but no evidence to back it up. All the pictures cited meet the challenge very well. My hypothesis is that no one voted it a 1, 2 or 3 for failing to meet the challenge.

Tooting my own horn too....

While not as pretty as the others posted here my Window View entry didn't get 1,2,or 3s either.

They obviously didn't vote it a 1,2 or 3 for any other reason either.

It's the caffeine, a lot of it :)

Kidding aside, I think it's the combination of literal interpretation of the challenge and appealing picture... and caffeine too :)

Anyone avoid 4s as well? :)

So what does that mean ...

Maybe it means that there aren't any voters who vote every image low, or not nearly as many as we thought there were. You know, the ones that get accused of voting every image low to help there own image rank higher. The ones that get called names like "moron", "curmudgeon", and worse; often by people who have entered a weak photo and can't accept the fact that others don't like it. Maybe it means there are very few "troll voters" but lots of folks who don't mind giving low votes to crummy images and ones that don't meet the challenge. Anonymity can't do much for the people who refuse to accept the fact that their entry didn't appeal to others as much as it appealed to them, but it goes a long way to enhance honesty in voting.

Congrats to ivash, and all who acheive an entry receiving no 1s, 2s, or 3s. Combining that with a ribbon must be a very rare occurrence.

Not many voters on that one though.

Still the top 602Z shot, bod?

And here's one that came fourth, with no 1 2 or 3, and more remarkably given it's score, has never been selected as favourite.

I've had a few shots with only one 3 vote (there's one in every crowd).

Langdon's blue ribbon didn't have any votes below 5.

Rackat's Splash of Color is even more remarkable, with only one misguided vote below 6!

I'll blow my own trumpet, too (ironically, I actually play the trumpet... or at least I *used* to...):

I had to check, but yes : )
Not for long though judging by the shot which almost beat me ... I wasn't around when this was entered, which is probably a good job because another 10 might have knocked me off the top!
