Triggertrap - Was wondering if anyone uses/has used/has seen this used? Specifically the cable and dongle.

Interesting...I've used my Arduino to trigger my camera in response to sensor input, but it's always been something I custom built on a protoboard, I never gave much thought to an integrated system like this...I want one.

I know the Dynamic Perception timelapse rigs use(d?) an Arduino for their "brain"

Okay, so the app works as advertised when told to use phone camera. Ordered dongle and cable and will see how it works with camera.

I got one last week, but I've been too busy to mess with it... :(

Ha! That was fast! Just got the product. Too bad it was not painless - they packed two dongles and no cable to the camera.

Anyone want a dongle? You can buy a cable for it to fit your camera for around 11 bucks. They just responded and told me to keep the second dongle and a cable is on the way. I can only use one. So...anyone who has a smartphone want the dongle portion?

Well, the app is great, the dongle and cable work great with the camera, but their shipping department needs work. First they send two dongles and no cables. Now they sent me two Canon cables. So if anyone is interested, you can save 11 bucks and order the dongle and I will send you the cable. Must have Canon and a smartphone.

I just was gifts the mobile dongle and the flash adapter. I haven't played with the flash yet, but the dongle and app work great on my old non-Phone-working iPhone. It doesn't work at all with my kindle fire HD however, although I can get the app and operate it fine it just doesn't trigger it. Apparently this is an issue with a lot of android devices, so just keep that in mind.

I've been wanting to goof around with one of these for a while. I just haven't had the momentum to purchase one.

I like the master slave functionality. I used it with an iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4 to see if it worked.

Putting it to a good test this evening.

Since it uses the earphone jack, the volume must be turned all the way up. It needs all of the power. Try this and see if it helps

Ok. Here's a time lapse if did last weekend. It ended sooner than I planed because I had it set to trigger the phone's camera too by accident and filled up the memory. Oops.

I plan to do this some more on my drive to work...

My droid works well with the app. I did have to stop it once and restart it because it lost connection to the dongle but otherwise so far so good. Thanks again for dongle CEJ

If it triggers your camera continuously, your camera is set wrong for the type of exposure. You need to set it on BULB for all the long exposures. If not, it will continuously fire the camera. Look on the app screen, in the lower right corner there will be a gray exclamation looking thing. Press this and it will bring up helpful info about the setting you are using - like your camera needs to be in bulb mode to work with that setting.
