I went to New Mexico (which is at least 30 times more beautiful than Illinois) recently and came up with these:

Oooooohhh, I was really excited when I saw these. I live in New Mexico, and these pictures are beautiful. My faves in no particular order:
The second picture: The way you captured the rays is wonderful. New Mexico really has the most beautiful sunsets I have seen.
The fifth picture: I absoulutely love the way the shadows are cast on the ground. You are at a perfect angle for a good texture of the bottom of the clouds.
The seventh picture: Other people may view this as not enough color, but it really is beautiful. The layers in the rock are very predominant. New Mexico color scheme is very subtle.
All in all I love these. I wish you could have gone to White Sands. It's stunning.
I have a few sunshot pictures in my portfolio. The cropping is terrible, so please don't mention it. I'm still working on resubmitting the pics without the white junk. I just think the colors are pretty. Check them out if you want.

Hey, thanks for the comments. I had a great time down in New Mexico, it was so depressing coming back to the supreme flatness of Illinois. Even the clouds in New Mexico look amazing.
I really like the colors in all of these, and I especially liked the silhouetted mountains and trees. These could definately be great shots with a bit of cropping. Nice job. |
