A couple of my comments said this was in the wrong challenge - I did shoot the Wax eye bird from behind hence the birds bum so what is the problem

It's the way the viewer sees it, if that helps.

Even with you telling me it's from behind, it still LOOKS like a profile shot. DPC likes us to be a little more obvious. Cool bird, though :-)

I enjoyed the image, the look, the clarity and catchlight. As a bird tog the body language is from behind BECAUSE the feet are perpendicular to camera and the birds butt is visible but the bird has twisted it's body to 3/4. I have found that unless the image is in your face obvious and is colourful and sharp as hell don't expect to get any love. I gave it a 7.

As a side note (pardon the pun), when does "behind" stop being a straight line 90° from subject to viewer? Is there a mathematical formulae? Does it stop at 89°/179°? And at 90°/180° is that then the "side"?
My "behind" bird shot was IMO also 100% behind, had less of a head/body turn than yours and on a technical level one of my best ever shots of this elusive species. But voters don't know that; It's all about the bling. Which I thought it had plenty of for DPC. It got a paltry 5.58...and placed 42nd bah humbug.
