I thought the "helpful comments" thing was going to encourage people to write more comments, but it seems not to have done. I've got 3 comments on one image and 2 on the other this week so far... and it's Wednesday. By this time last week, both my images had about 7-10 comments each.

Even so, out of the three comments on one of the images, I've managed to attract the obligatory "It's too dark" comment. I reckon I'd still get one of those if I submitted an extremely over-exposed pic of a polar bear in a snow storm!

I'm not expecting everyone to comment on every image, but if everyone did about 10 comments, I reckon that would give everyone a reasonable number of comments... and I don't care if you're not an expert - you still have an opinion!

I try to comment on as my photos as I can during the week! especially not just the ones I scream WOW to, hehe.. I try to comment on a few from all of my ratings... did that make sense? hehe

Yes, it did... I know some people add their comments later on - after voting - I do that too. It's just that by now, I'd have expected to have attracted more than two or three comments :-)

Perhaps I'm just being impatient.

Well I haven't had comments from either of you :P

I think Landscapes was a very easy challenge to comment on and combined with the initial excitement of the comment rating system we got a brief spike in the amount of comments left.

I haven't even started voting yet so there's definitely more comments to come.

I have found these two current challenges to be enormously gruelling to comment upon. I did not award any 9s or 10s this time around. I found the Signs challenge to be a bit boring in general and the Milk challenge to be below the normal calibre of this site.

I do not mean to be callous, it is just the way I see it. Perhaps after the extraordinary submissions offered within the Landscape challenge, the contrast to the Signs challenge is simply to great to get me overly excited. Does anyone else think this way? Or, am I just being too insensitive and harsh?

Totally insensitivE! I demand an 11!

hehe :)

I voted on 175 images in the signs competition and commented on 76 of them. I really don't have the time to comment on all of the photos.

So far I have only received 3 comments...

I found 5 photos worthy of a "10" and two got a "9". There are some great photos there.

Yes, Annida, I deserved that sort of response.

What was I thinking - speaking my mind and expressing an opinion on the Rant Forum - stupid mistake? LOL

By the way, I did vote on your cacti submission, keep up the good work.

Why not, it is about –20c to -30c outside here, so there are not too many cacti around for me to see. I enjoy viewing images from other places, and of things that are not indigenous to my home.

Morgan, I feel you pain. It's -22C here today, plus the wind factor. It's about -35C with the wind. Brrr. I think I'd give a 10 to any picture with a palm tree in it. Brrrrr.

I think I'll but a bit more rum in my coffee this morning.

I think the number of comments usually reflects how interesting the photograph is, or how much it motivates people to say something - plain and simple.

I've got more comments this week than I've had in the last 5 challenges so I'm quite happy with this as a sign of the times

It can be a good picture but not give someone anything to say. Probably means it isn't having much of an emotional or other impact though.

I am happy with the amount of comments that I have received so far this week (road sign). I have tied my second highest amount of comments received and am closing in on the most. I appreciate any and all comments received. I am planning on, for the first time, to make it to vote on all photos in the roadsign challenge this week. I am a little behind (work and family keeps getting in the way) but I hope to have all photos commented on by 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time on Sunday.

For all of you who have commented on my photos and just can't wait until next week to comment on more of my photos can visit my site on pbase. //www.pbase.com/wheeler1992/wheeler1992

Although my photos aren't doing great. I have 14 comments on Both my Dairy Submission and my sign submission. That's more comments than I've had in a LONG time. Im really happy with the comments this week.
