Depends on what bike I'm riding. Though even my fat tire bike has drop bars so it looks like a weird mutant road bike.

Richard (hahn23) made the following comment in the bike thread leading up to this challenge:
"My suggestion is that creative, unique and standard interpretations of "bikes" be welcomed"

So far it looks like mine is not being welcomed too much. I won't give away which of the above 3 possibilities I eventually decided to go with.

6 is my favorite score here..:)
6 means you uploaded a great photo, yet not fascinating enough to bit top 10..
6 means that you can have more effort to your image..(5 strobes and amazing model is a start..)
6 means that this image can get 50 likes in Facebook..
6 means that your image did better then 30-100 images that got 5.9..
6 means that the viewers spend 0.2 sec' more then 5-5.5 images..

at this stage of the voting, 6 means you can end with 5.8665875 :) or higher :)

Doing lots better then in the leading lines challenge but it's a bit disconcerting that
my score keeps dropping not climbing. Was almost at 5.0 at around 8 votes then the rot started setting in.
That 1 fave makes me happy though :)

People aren't impressed.

5.4

Should have put in the funkier one that would have scored lower. :)

Was flip-flopping across the 6 mark right after rollover, and I was expecting to find it in the mid 5's this morning. Was pleasantly surprised instead.

I am not a photographer (duh), I try to do dpchallege so I get better at taking photos, But with no feedback and only scores I simply don't know how to make my images better, Of course I am doing the best that I can but its limited to what I know and understand. I wish average and lower than average photos would recieve more comments too, they are the photos that need comments more than the top ones.

after the challenge, you can post your image and ask for feedback.

When I was new here, I commented a lot more, and mostly on the mid range votes I handed out. One can actually learn more by leaving comments than by waiting to receive them. Many others have had the same experience. Detailed commenting on all the entries takes a lot of time and effort, and one does not really know if such efforts are going to someone who wants or needs them.

It is easy to find nice things to say about the entry you like, and also easy to find the problems to point out in the ones you find to be poor. The midrange votes are the hardest. By making yourself analyze why you find an entry ok but not outstanding, you will learn things that you can apply to your own photography.

And like Gary said, you can request feedback after the challenge. Many people will be happy to tell you what they voted on it and why. Someone may also do a re edit on your image to show you how much better it would be with Godzilla in it. (It's actually considered an honor to have your image 'Zilla'd)

In addition to what has been already suggested consider joining the TPL. That should be an efficient way to get good critical feedback regularly.

Also, the Critique Club might be back in business.

Wallace Stevens

Hey, my photo is very average, but my score is much lower than expected during this era of intolerance at DPC.

There's also an outtakes thread in which folks post shots they considered entering but didn't. Helps to know if you would have faired better heading another direction.

A deer on a mountain Does Not Meet this Challenge unless the deer's four legs have been amputated and replaced with two wheels. ;-P

It helps to look at the work of a really bad photographer, such as this person here at DPC, and avoid making their mistakes.

No, I entered "Bikes". So, I'm confused as to what seem like DNMC votes. No comments, so I don't have a clue why the votes are sub 5.

No wonder I'm so lonely. Nobody understands me. :-(
