What?!? Christmas in March?

Wow! What previously cost around $500 was just given to me for free by Nik Software. I looked it up because it sounded too good to be true and I see the news that Nik's software will no longer be sold individually for $100 each but will be sold as a bundle for $150. However, "for being a long-time Nik Customer" they sent it to me for free!!!

LOl - I got the same email. You mean it isn't SPAM?
Thought I'd wait on the download until the news got verified on DPC.

I was also a little worried it might be spam!

Yeah, I thought it was too good to be true also. I downloaded it, installed it, and found right away that this is real and it works. A very nice surprise these days!

I have the full set - paid for them all. I haven't heard anything, though. Who is the mail coming from? I'll check the spam folder...

I have not received an email, either. The following information is from the nik blog.

"If you've already purchased one or more Nik plug-ins in the past, then don't worry, we've got you covered. In fact: we're going to upgrade you to the entire Nik Collection by Google for free. Just keep an eye out for emailed instructions in the next few days."

I do expect an email in the next few days.

Mine came late this afternoon, well after the first hits were reported.

I had never used the Nik filters, downloaded them all for free as a result of this thread and installed them. Opened up PS6 and was immediately presented with a little 'option window' of some sort that said GOOGLE in the top border dead center of my PS workspace. I clicked to get rid of this and all was normal. I closed PS6 and opened again and again was presented with this little window. I tried everything I could find in settings for the NIK filters and could not get rid of it so deleted the Nik filters without ever actually using them. They may be good, but Google wrecked them just because of that.

You can stop that from automatically opening. From the support page:
"Photoshop also offers a separate window for easy access to the plug-ins. This is called the Selective Tool, and it automatically opens when Photoshop opens. If you would like to change this setting so that it does not automatically open, click on the Settings button in the lower left corner of the window. If you close the Selective Tool and then wish to reopen it, navigate to File > Automate > Nik Selective Tool."

I can't get all the plugins to work. Define and Viveza open fine from both LR4 and CS5. Trying to open any of the others from CS5 freezes the program and I have to go to the task manager to close it. When I try from LR4, it makes the copy, but no other window pops up. The task manager says that the plugin is running in the background, but I can't access it. I'm waiting on an email back from support. :(

Are there others still waiting to get their email? I have heard of a lot of people getting the email already, and very few not getting it.

I'm having difficulties. It went to my spam folder, but it came in with the links stripped out, so I see the links, but they're not clickable.

I'm trying to send an email through their support system now, but when I click on submit, nothing's happening. Back to trying to get through.

Went to chrome and was able to at least submit the email.

(check your spam folder)

I love that window. I can drag it wherever you want to it and it will default to that location. I can minimize it just like a normal window, so it just hangs there as a bar. It lets me access all my Niks without going through the menu structure. I like it a lot.

Thanks, giantmike, for your post. It caused me to look in my spam folder a second time. There was an email titled, "Your upgrade to the new Nik Collection by Google". Google mail had marked it as spam AND marked it with a
"this may be a phishing message" warning. Oh, the irony. I had ignored that email yesterday. It turned out to be THE email.

Anyway, I had to move the wrongly maligned email to my inbox in order to open it. Everything worked great. Flawless installation into Aperture and PSE10 on my MacPro.

I have tried to download several times and keep getting a message that does not recognize the program to open it. Anyone else have this problem?

I bought the pkg last night...it's installed and working...I haven't tried all the pkges but I will not...

I did find out that I have to run it as TIFF and I can't change the resolution to 300...if you are changing anything when you are uploading the file to be worked on...DON'T...open it the way they have it set.

here is the link that I used to purchase it...

Linky...Linky...Great DEAL!!!

It worked last night...but hurry!!! I'm sure someone will figure out that this was surly a mistake!!!! lol
