Lucky I read the forums earlier and saw pamb Reminder: Light on White VI is MINIMAL EDITING. So Thanks!

Helped at editing but did not help to set the camera a bit differently with more sharpness contrast etc

Wow. Must be a different 255 255 255 than the one I'm familiar with.

Now that is a real surprise. Probably won't stay but I had to share while it lasts! :)

I may actually, finally have my first brown.

I just went through all the entries and scored it. Heaven knows, I am not a troll nor a purest when it comes to art. However, the instruction is clear; "on a WHITE background..." not pastel colored or gray or any other form but white. In my opinion, a clear winner in any other but this challenge, the person will know who I am referring too due to personal feedback, was marked down too. Yes, a winner... but not following the most basic rule.

More a question, since when is light on white equated to soft focus and limited DoF?

You have given an average score of 5.3544. Yes, 4 X 10s and at least 12% at 7 plus. Terrible for me with an average score of 6 plus in most challenges. Sorry, really sorry.

Wow. I had several images that I took for this challenge but ended up not entering them, because I felt that the objects had too much color... Looks like I would've been in plenty of company. There are many that DNMC.

Yeah, don't count on it. Mine is at 4,5 but is dropping.
I have four entries at the moment: 2 x 4.5 and 2x 5,8. How's that for meh?

My shot is directly out of my camera and in .jpg as required. Which was very difficult for me. I was having Photoshop withdrawal. :)

Good grief Charlie Brown. Are you people who are voting the same people who tried entering?
03/04/2013 09:21:09 AM · #18
Sounds like I'm not the only one who hasn't found favour with the voting public. I've obviously missed the mark with this one.

Another penny in the pee-pot: The entrees in general lack initiative, creativity and basic skills. We have lost so much of the basics as almost anything can be fixed in PS, LR and Topaz et al. Please forgive me But I think we are far more skilled at post processing and image manipulation than being photographers. Me included. We will have to find a balance. Build the basics and polish the higher skills.

Chow, see you again in about 4 weeks. Love you my fiends!

Well said, Penny. Yes, the challenge title was clear. And yes, the challenge was tough to shoot for and made even more difficult by the editing rule set. I think many tried and found their efforts lacking. The alternatives in that case were to enter their best effort or to not enter.

Looks like I'm very much in the minority here, as I am really impressed with the submissions. There's some really excellent stuff from what I can see.

Well, I definitely posted a stinker, 4.607.
