That is the reason I asked to be removed from the list so MANY months ago......... I used to worry about my availability...... over and over again....... I had NO idea it would take years and years and years (or maybe NEVER) for him to actually make it to me in Brisbane/Australia.

I am amazed there is still at least a tiny bit of interest left in playing host to a little lost penguin who took WAY longer than anticipated to arrive at each next destination.

Best of luck to you, poor little "Lost" penguin.

He is just living up to his name... I think it was the introduction of alcohol that slowed him down a bit...

As long as he is still travelling it just makes it even more amazing when he makes it home and we finally get the book together and offer it to children's charity.. It has taken years but the very fact that he is still on the move is amazing..

Remember, for the children's book you'll have to leave out all the shots where he's swilling down some alcoholic beverage...might cut down greatly on what you can use! ;-)

Maybe some judicious Photoshopping can turn it into orange juice ... :-)

Or ginger ale. Maybe future hosts should just order a shandy for him so it looks alcoholic but isn't. I think that's the original alcopop, ain't it?

I thought a shandy was fruit-flavored beer ...

Ham shandy is off limits for vegetarians.

My understanding is that shandy is half-beer, usually something light, and half-ginger ale. At least that's what I drank in British pubs when I was underage. Maybe other fruit juices are acceptable too?

In UK Shandy is half beer, half lemonade (as in Sprite, not American style lemonade). not normally ginger ale.

Hmmm that does sound familiar...it's been awhile since I had a shandy. Hang on...here's what wiki says...Shandy is beer mixed with a soft drink, such as carbonated lemonade, ginger beer, ginger ale, or apple juice or orange juice. The proportions of the two ingredients are adjusted to taste, usually half-and-half. Non-alcoholic shandies are known as "rock shandies".

Who has Lost right now? Does he feel like some warm Florida sunshine?
11/07/2015 07:03:05 PM · #762
If he is on schedule, he's either in Southern Cal or Hawaii. Next stop after that is Australia...
11/08/2015 05:30:19 AM · #763
If I were in Hawaii I wouldn't wanna move on yet either
11/08/2015 10:52:20 AM · #764
Nope, he's not in Hawaii yet. He must seeing the sights somewhere in SoCal.

He's enjoying the sun here in L.A. and Manhattan Beach for a visit!

My apologies that I "lost" track of time and he's sitting here on my rosewood Dragon desk.

I will renew my account and upload the photos, then mail him to Hawaii on Saturday!

I wish I had a better excuse like...he was lured for a long visit with the Mirkwood elves....or briskly fighting Orcs deep in the Mountains!

I have a couple more that I will post in a bit!

In the meantime, LOST journeys on to Hawaii (mailed yesterday).

I didn't have any seashells so instead....I included a small origami bird made out of good ol' USA dollar!

The music CD produced by Paul Marcus (aka GeneralE) is AWESOME!

This is great that they have so much extra stuff from their journey.

I agree about the extra stuff, but based on the images, Lost would benefit from some extra "stuffing" at this point :-)

...or how he could pick up the pace and move at a decent speed if he were not "so frail" :0) Don't most penguins usually have a somewhat rounded belly?

Well, Lost was handing over in person to Jeff Chalice who wanted to have him/her to stay with him for a couple of weeks to get some pics. I’ve been crazy busy and haven’t had much energy to pick up the camera these past couple of months so I've had Lost for almost 3 weeks now. Here are some shots I did manage to get…Lost is such a ham!

The rest of the album is up on Flickr here: ….I also have one more I’ll throw in later.

After Jeff, Lost is off to New Zealand!

I think the last time StefanJSimons was active was ages ago... Jeff might want to try contacting him soonish, just in case he's left the building.

If Jeff can't get in touch with Stefan, I believe I'm next on the list? It should be interesting to have a couple of penguins in our CQ Australian drought effected summer!
