It does show wind but it was always just entered for fun so I'm not expecting much more than this.

I won't mark as helpful comments that say there's no wind in my shot. I got my first - you don't have to look too carefully to notice it

I just got DNMC, no other comment or critique. Not marking helpful either. It's not.

Damn it, I should have just lit a fart.

The thing is, if it's not noticeable then, well it's DNMC to me ;)

Otherwise it might as well be a FS!

That was painful to vote on.

wind:
noun |wind|
1. the perceptible natural movement of the air, esp. in the form of a current of air blowing from a particular direction
02/06/2013 01:43:48 AM · #12
From challenge description:
"capture this invisible but always-present phenomenon"

This is a description of FS to me ;) It does not say - "show the effect of the wind" which seems to be the expectation.

Anyway, some nice images in this challenge.

Now you're set with an idea for the jagar challenge. After all, you're immune to dnmc!

Let's be frank.

"this invisible but always-present phenomenon" is superfluous.
It is expressing the word wind:
hence the description is "capture wind".

Wind is as stated by the definition I gave earlier. There are others of course.
Why do we have to say this is a FS?
This is basic grade school comphrension of the English language.

People can do shoehorns. I do them all the time. But I don't think we are as uneducated to think what wind means?

How do you represent it?

By showing the effects of it!

Yes - flowing fabric and hair. Very interesting.
PS Missed the birds, the flags, the trees, the smoke, the kites, the waves and the clouds.

In mine it's perfectly noticeable... maybe not for the speed voters, of course.

Next time we should join a video contest, it would be easier:

I don't really care about the scores these days but this is plain silly.

I tried tonight. Holding the match, trying to spray an aerosol, and operating the shutter proved to be too difficult to make it look realistic. Spent a good two hours trying to make it work. Shockingly my wife didn't want to help.

I am sure it will recover, it always does.
