- im not a big fan of the colors
- when i click any of the links, on the new page that opens there is always a second background splash thingy starting near the bottom of the page but without all the buttons and stuff (My screen resolution is 1600x1200)
- i think in the link bar on the left on the main page the thumbnail pictures should be the clickable as well, not just the words
other than that its looking good :-)

I like it a lot...the retro colours, very nice and easy to use.
Unfortunately, though...the thumbnails are much too small once I click on the different categories. Also, I would like to be able to click on pictures instead of just the words on the opening page.
Good start!
Edit: I also don't like the empty space on the right and bottom of the pages.

I agree with cloud on that one, but otherwise it has a GREAT and fun feel to it.

Center it on the screen. Now it loads in the upper left corner. Make the menu links on the bottom match the colors of your image map. Use style sheets.

| you have your name martello three times on the home page in three different fonts - maybe they should be the same, for name recogntion. |

Please don't take my comments to heart, I will try and be constructive...
The colors conveyed an 'old fashioned' style that suited the re-touching element of your work but contrasted badly with the stock photos.
The home page took a long time to load. (surprising as I have broadband!) This is extremely bad practice.
The text size is generaly too small I found it difficult to read clearly.
The home page is narrower than the rest of the site, causing the impression of a 'jump' as the new page background widens.
On my screen the background is wrapping vertically.
Non of the thumbnails seem to be working currently?

| I think you have to many slices which is making it take a while to load. Try combining some of them. Other than that it looks great. |

ok so here is the question, the web designer is a friend of mine so how do I say these points to him? It is weird though it comes up quick on my computer at work and at home, there is a very easy flow etc.

it comes quick for a broadband user - and for you probably because it's stored in your cache from looking it in the past - i imagine that is daily...

Heather, I kind of like the old time feel of it but here are some UI points... Definitely center the page and maybe bring it down 10 or so pixels for a space at the top. Use Web-safe colors the logo in the top right is not colored the same as the background. I can see the slightly darker brown...USE Style sheets(CSS) to uniformly present text and lose the blue links (CSS again)at the bottom... If you want to stay with gifs in the brown circle use a 1 or 2 pixel black outline and/or drop shadow them for a professional look and feel.
Overall not too bad, but the site does not convey an overall professional look - remember this is you first impression on potential clients - Make it count!!! Just tell your friend that you like it but need to make some improvements. If he is your friend he will understand

*Edit* It may load fast because it is in your Cache... try clearing it and then opeining it again...

| I like the look. Very unique. Only suggestion is possibly to full up the screen. The right hand side of my screen is empty. |
