Hey!! I didn't notice that it showed up!

So in case someone else was as oblivious as me.... (as oblivious as myself?)

People have been waiting for a year for this one -- you'll have to move faster. There's always next year. :)

Thanks. I didn't notice it either.

I haven't a clue what I'm going to enter, but I'll have to find something.

Difficult criteria to meet:

1. Show us the best shot you took last year! ...

2. I submit that my entry was based on photograph(s) taken with a digital camera on or between Jan. 15th 2013 and Jan. 31st 2013. ...

So, in this case, it becomes necessary to simply ignore the typographical errors.

I'm going to be tough on the DNMC on this, if its not your best work you'll be in trouble ;) haha

Ok I'm in too.
Won't come close to my 2nd place last year but it should do ok.

Have been thinking this over for a while now, do i use another edit on a different image from one of my better entries so it's a different source image (but noticable as me for some) or do i go with something different which may not have been my best shot?
decisions decisions.......

But LydiaToo is the English expert so maybe she'll chime in. :-)

I have very few images to choose from this year so I'm not sure I'll be entering anything, but thanks for posting the reminder.

That would be "As oblivious as I..." Just extend the sentence and it becomes obvious: "As oblivious as me was" vs "As oblivious as I was" (or "am", for that matter...)

ETA: I see CJ beat me to it, good work d00d!

Sorry. That wasn't one of the choices. So I guess I'll have to stick with "as oblivious as me am." :)

(but I can blame it on a two day migraine. :)

Is that anything like a 2 day drunk?

I don't know... I've never been drunk. 2 day drunk sounds like more fun, but it sounds like I'd still have the headache afterward, so I guess there's no way around it.

With each passing year it's becoming more of a Best Outtake of 2012 than anything else. Might as well just allow previous entries to be submitted.

Interesting idea. My top two shots definitely have been entered. Though there have been a couple of months that there were multiple choices for free studies. Sometimes the one you enter, isn't necessarily the one you end up liking the best after time goes by, though.

last year a lot just entered the next frame from the challenge entry that was in most cases identical or ever so slighlty different

Glad to see this. I had just the thing. :)

I hardly took any photos in 2012. Trying to remedy that lately, but I'll see if I have any shots worth salvaging.

Perfect time for my external hard drive to commit apoptosis. >< You're always an exception to the rule until it's too late. Keep your photos in two places if you'd like to not loose the past three years!

Can someone in SC fix this please so I feel safer about entering?

I asked as soon as the challenge was announced... *sigh*

I also suggested that they get rid of the announcement for Best of 2011 challenge on the front page, because it embarrassed me to recommend a site that hasn't updated their "news" for a year.

"Site News
Best of 2011 & More - Jan 18th
The Best of 2011 challenge has been scheduled and some new features have been implemented. To read more, click here for the announcement."

When I renewed my membership last week I was going to send a PM to Langdon about updating that "News", but didn't. Maybe if a few of us sent PMs about the "News" it might have more of an impact? I don't think the SC has the power to change that part of the code.

I entered anyway, even if most people will probably say "Is that the best you did last year"? :-D
