The subject of where to get prints done comes up here frequently.

Here's a link to a comparison study. I have no affiliation, nor did I participate. Just found it interesting.

Thanks! Based on that I signed up for an account with Pro DPI and was able to order 5 free 8x10's. Looking forward to seeing the quality.

I received my 5 free 8x10's today from Pro DPI today and the quality is way above what I've gotten from anywhere else. They've got their selves a new customer!

did they follow up on their 'you gotta be a professional studio' claim?

No, I just put my name followed by the word Photography in the space for Studio Name.

They article has been edited since to say you don't have to be pro.

I usually use Bayphoto, but have been looking for equal quality/ lower price. If ProDPI delivers, I'll owe you a beer for pointing me in the right direction.

Thanks

I had been using Nations, but these prints are much better than those. This place also has free shipping if your order is $12 or more. I also used to buy from Shutterfly, but gave them up when I found Nations.

Interesting article, but it made my (older) browsers crash ...:-(

Wish they'd tested Costco, which would have cost under $9 for their test set (not counting shipping -- I pick mine up at the store) ... I don't think the article makes clear whether their stated cost includes shipping and any applicable tax.

The prices did include shipping in the article. Even when they had the option to pick up, for their tests they shipped. We don't have Costco around here. If I absolutely need to pick up right away, I use Walgreens (which is rare). They are the least awful of the local printers. I guess I should mention Pro DPI packed the 5 8x10's in a box, sandwiched flat between cardboard, with bubble wrap and a candy and shipped UPS. I ordered the 13th at night and received them today the 17th.

Thanks for the info -- you should post a direct link (esp. if they have an "affiliate" program).

I don't think they have an affiliate program. But here's their site... //www.prodpi.com/
