Shot this flying creature this morning but have no idea what it is. Nothing special I guess but would still like to know. Who knows?

Could it be a Peregrine Falcon?

I think it's a juvenile buzzard, first year, maybe wrong ;)

Doesn't have the field marks (helmet) of a Peregrine. My best guess is immature, dark phase Gyrfalcon.

Eurasian Kestrel?

No, quite sure it is a buzzard. The buzzard is very common in the Netherlands, you can see it all year round. Most of the time you see them close to the Motorways, waiting on a pole in the fields for dead birds or small animals (as a result of the busy traffic).
The Gyrfalcon is not really a bird you can find in the Netherlands.

ETA: The Kestrel is a much smaller bird than the buzzard and although quite common in the Netherlands as well, it doesn't look like one on the Hjalmars images.

Oh, maybe it was a tourist visiting. Gyrfalcon (Falco rusticolus) Netherlands and Belgium
Maybe it's been hunted to extinction since these photos were captured.

I agree, absolutely a Buzzard. I found this great photo of the lighter plumage.
