Ugh... maybe. A hard pill to swallow.

That almost looks like a split.

If it's not, then that's one motherf*#*er of a drop.

And, defenestrating yourself is against the bible.

Don't make white baby Jesus cry.

Yeah my stocks took a dump as well but I am about to buy more at the discounted price

It's no split. Apparently a lot of shares held didn't like the Q3 results, which were released yesterday. The immediate and intense response just goes to show how the regular joe investor doesn't have a chance against the machine.

I'm thinking of selling all of my regular stocks and putting everything into my low MER funds and ETFs. >:-(

That's nice if you have the guts. No guts, no glory, I guess.

IF you choose the right investments...you can make some money in this market. I just hope I have chosen right.

While I still think it's possible for a regular person to be a successful "Beating the Street" type stock picker, I sold the last of my individual stocks about 10 years ago and switched entirely to cheap index funds. I couldn't tell you if I'm making more or less money, but the index funds are doing well enough, and I am able spend my time on photography instead of stock research.

I had made some money day-trading / rolling over a few stocks in 2000, then made the mistake of going all-in on one that had been very good to me. Over Easter weekend, it went from $17 to $3. When I saw it that Monday morning, it took me awhile to believe it. It was like having the wind knocked out of me. That was the end of my dabbling in stocks. I've had all my money in Pokemon cards ever since. (not really)

That's how I do my "investing" too, after I read a book titled "A Random Walk Down Wall Street". I also have some individual stocks, just to prove to myself that I really do suck at The Stock Market. :-)

I have a couple of REIT ETFs. They are doing OK, as opposed to the bloodshed of my individual stocks.

I sincerely hope you reconsider your words in the future. It's never nice having to be reminded of the personal battles people struggle with daily such as suicide and how it affects the lives of everyone around the person involved. I come here to relax, chat and enjoy the company, not to be reminded of the painful moments of life.

Don't worry, I haven't jumped out of the window yet, and if I do, I'm on the ground floor. I haven't sold the stock either, and it's at something like $1 now.
