Today is the day... if you haven't already, GET OUT AND VOTE! Every vote DOES count and there are lots of races at stake! Do it!!
11/06/2012 07:06:16 AM · #2
+1 and maybe this thread can be a "get out the vote" thread ONLY. With no partisan sniping?

My hope is that it is over quickly and decisively either way.

Also, I am voting for legalization here in WA - although Medical MJ is already legal and after this campaign season, Lord knows we all need something for the pain.

Yesterday was National "Hold Your Breath" Day. Today, go vote, have a cup of coffee, and breath normally. It will be what it will be. Some of us will be happy and some of us, not so much. Rejoice in the fact that tomorrow will be National "No More Political Ads" Day.

How much confidence do you have that voting for US presidency is 100% honest? Think voting machines, overseas votes [military], early votes, no paper trail... To be honest myself; I don't trust them for a second, neither in Holland btw.

I have to trust that my vote counts until otherwise proven beyond the shadow of a doubt that it is being used unlawfully. Call me blind if you wish, but I have been given the privilege to voice my choice by the principles and right of "We The People" and the Woman's Suffrage in the early 1900's that fought for the 19th Amendment. I'd rather exercise my voice rather than be silent and unaccounted for.

Now, if you ask me if I have utmost confidence that the politicians will uphold ALL or half the promises they make - that is quite another thing.

I voted last week in early voting and also spend an two hours time reading up about and on the other offices that are up for election and state proposed amendments before I made a decision.

I voted on October 23rd during early voting in Colorado. I was never in the undecided group. Only controversial thing was, after voting, my name (and everyone else who voted early) was released to the political parties. That's good.... because the robocalls stopped. It's also bad because I don't think that information should be shared with anyone.

I read an article very similar to that yesterday on MSN...the only prob with that...If everyone heeded the advice and didn't vote....then how would the people elect someone to office??? So I will not follow their advice and I will be voicing my opinion by voting

On the topic of "Elect someone to office" I am in California.... It doesn't matter how many people go vote, and who they go vote for. Two words, Electoral College.
What can matter is the props. That's about it.

Yeah on the subject of electoral college...That system has been outdated for years. It really needs to go away and got to popular vote....

Seriously, you do not find it scary? It is unsustainable. If things keep up like this it is going to come crashing down on us at some point, and turning things around will not be easy.
