You can have the snow that WONT STOP FALLING here!
Ugh. I hate the snow.
It's pretty to look at... but it's so messy, and cold, and wet. No thank you!

We seem to be right in the middle of the snowstorm! And it keeps circling us... not moving north, south, east, or west... just making circles. Great. :::rolls eyes:::

The power is bound to go out. I don't want this to be a repeat of the Derecho we experienced a few months ago! We were out of power for 2 weeks with that one!

Hurricane Sandy knocked over our trash can. Don't worry, it was empty.

We are without power and it is predicted to be out for up to a week.

Peter, hope you get it back soon. Last year we were out for a week.
Just some crazy wind and branches down everywhere here, luckily never lost power, central inland CT.

Lots of power outages. My son is in college at Lehigh about an hour north of Philadelphia. I received a text last night that they lost power.

ETA: Classes have been cancelled the rest of the week. They expect the power to be out for an extended period.

they are open here... we've got almost a foot of snow, if not more.

on a more serious note, I got some awesome pics of the kiddos playing in the snow!
no trick or treating here tonight... they moved it to Thursday night, but may push it back further. guess we'll see.

Pictures from Manhattan's Upper West Side where nothing major happened, we had power and water but extremely heavy winds and almost no rain. Who knows what's in Central Park now?! We lost several years ago over 400 trees.

Thanks mariuca. I see that there is a lot of tree damage.
When the wind blows into buildings, the wind velocity can be much higher in the gap between buildings. Even though average wind speeds did not exceed 100mph, locations between buildings may have gotten much stronger gusts.
We're happy that your neighborhood didn't get damaged as much as others, and that you still have utilities.

No major damage at my house, but others weren't so lucky. A firefighter was killed responding to a call on our street last night. Trees are down all over. Likely to be without power or water for a week. Happy birthday to my daughter- second year in a row of roughing it.

Winds have died down a lot, some trees down, no hydro out in my area. However all the leaves I had raked up into piles are now redistributed all over the lawn again!!! We are meant to get some more rain but apparently the worst of the storm for this area is over.

Got off easy this time 'round.

A few things I ran into today. I live in South Brooklyn, NY. This area is one of the coastal Evac zones. It could have been alot worse. We were more lucky than others.
