I don't even want to think about politics.

Work is canceled for me tomorrow and so is Reagan's school. Brad (husband) still plans on having his guys work a full day tomorrow and I pitched a fit, but he won't listen.

We have our fall planning meeting scheduled for Friday/Saturday, but I was talking to our deputy director via text today and she's calling our chairman to talk about possibly canceling, but I haven't heard from her in about 3 hours. On the other hand, I left my phone at my inlaws' house from when I was there this afternoon.

So we know that the Xmen are in on this, but when the storm knocks a crane off a highrise building in Manhattan, how long do we have to wait for Spiderman?

LOL, the radius there seems a bit small.

not to mention the waters seem a bit calm - calm enough for a small speed boat to be out having fun

Its funny when I think about it. Once a year, I pay a couple hundred to go camping with my family and friend's of ours. In a tent. No power. This year, it rained all the time. Didn't mind it entirely too much, except near the end after 4 days of rain. But now....oh come on. :)

Lost power here in south-central Pennsylvania at my wife & daughter's house, and my girlfriend's house......possible seven to ten day outage. All the small streams swollen & overflowing their banks, trees down everywhere, and businesses closed all over. Don't know if I ever saw a McDonalds closed at three in the afternoon before.....

We're back up! We've been without power since 1:30, just got it back. Storm has not been too extreme here on the Cape; windy, but not catastrophically so, not all that much rain, but a very high tide plus storm surge is apparently playing some havoc on the ocean-facing beaches.

We're back up too. Only out a couple hours.

Welcome back Bear, Penny and Kelli.

Hopefully out other east coast folks are doing as well. Just spoke to my co-worker in Connecticut, and he says things are going ok there.

CT will be out widespread for about a week. I can't imagine they would restore 500k customers in less than that. Our governor said during today's conference that he hopes the utilities have learned and will do better.

The only good thing is that tree cutting has been rampant here. Though, after looking at the outage map, one couldn't tell the difference between this and Irene.

Work is closed tomorrow, schools are too...just sitting here, waiting to see what we'll do.

Last year wasn't bad. It was August, we actually had some fun. The winter storm annoyed us. Now this is just ***sing us off. :)

South Eastern CT was hit hardest by winds due to the lack of shelter from the inlet of LI.

Commercial harbor at Chatham at high tide: those are docks underwater, surge coming into the parking lot.

Did anyone else see blue lightning tonight? Weird stuff!

I saw this on George Takei's FB. I didn't know Art did work for George.

Kidding aside...I hope everyone on the East Coast is somewhere safe.

That might be power company equipment and lines going up in arcs and smoke.

BBC is reporting a 4-meter storm surge at high tide in NYC, with flooding into the subways and other low-lying parts of Manhattan. They are also reporting 11 fatalities, but I didn't hear where those were ... :-(

My MIL is in New Beford, MA without power, I hope it isn't too long before her power is back on. Would love to know what their predictions are, for that. Unfortunately her apt. is all electric.

current conditions in Charleston WV:

we've got at least 4-5+" of snow, with it still falling.
beckley has reported 22+"
Elkins is over 20" as well!

power has flickered at our place, but not out as of yet. lets hope it stays this way!
there have been over 6000 reported outages in our county, however, with the numbers continuing to rise.

hope everyone is staying safe during this time!!!

Over 450000 people without power in CT, several fatalities due to drowning and trees falling on cars and houses, significant property damage all along the coastal towns. Be safe everyone.

We are without power and it is predicted to be out for up to a week.
