Maybe you'll luck out and the European model will be more accurate, and it'll come at us instead. Though you'd still get hit pretty darn hard. I hope you guys are at least moving inland a bit.

I have all day play practice on Saturday, and it's driving me up the wall. I'd love to go out to the ocean and watch the lead up, but I'm not stupid enough to do it Sunday/Monday.

It is an interesting point about the elections, however. When hurricane Isabel hit, places around here were out of power for a couple of weeks.

Ok -- I can't find the answer in 5 minutes or less.

What if you are unable to vote because your county has no electricity. And this happens in a large chunk of the east. Are you just out of luck? You can't vote early in Virginia.

then you must travel to you place of birth, on a mule

On the state level, officials would have the option of resetting time & place of polling. It will be complicated, controversial. A natural disaster of this magnitude during the time of a presidential election would be unprecedented (as far as I know). It could alter the course of history. (Sounds overly dramatic, but I think it might be a big deal.)

Stranger things have nearly altered the course of history. ;-)

Haha. You're funny. What if your place of birth is over 5,000 miles away and there is a little bit of water in the way (the ocean)? (Not really related to voting).

Yeah, maybe, but not for such a long time. Are you trying to get me killed? :(

Could be a hell of a storm.. You guys be safe.

Honestly, my advise is to get inland for the storm. You won't win in a fight with nature.

Be safe Cape Cod DPc'ers. Lets hope the only people "thrusting into the North Atlantic" are the weathermen.

I see rain!

tiny raindrops.

I called to make an appt with an oral surgeon, and they're not bothering to schedule anything for Monday.

With a rare mix of three big merging weather systems over a densely populated region, experts predict at least $1 billion in damage.

(The perfect storm of 1991 caused $200 million in damage.)

Did that spawn a blizzard in Minnesota?

I remember a halloween blizzard, but I don't remember what year it was.

Yup. Figured it had to be, but was too lazy to check. :)

I was driving an acura integra at the time.

Not the best car to be out in during a blizzard. :)

This is at the start of the Halloween blizzard that we had last year in New England.

In CT, there were more than 500,000 people without power for more than a week.

Good luck everybody! Hope it stays offshore.

Hopefully it will just stay off shore and go out to sea - that would be the best thing but Mother Nature doesn't always co-operate. So stay safe everyone!

Going somewhere to vote? Whats that like? It sounds archaic.

In Oregon everyone votes from home, and yes most (that are going to vote) have already voted.
