Is it just me or do the drop down menus on dpc not work on IOS6?
09/23/2012 02:23:04 AM · #2
It is not you. They don't work on my iPad after the upgrade either. I'm having a variety of problems with the iPad and the OS6 upgrade. Dropping my wifi constantly for one.

Thanks - reassuring to know it is not just mine. I have noticed similar wifi drop out on my iPad too

Same here, seems to be a few more issues than just the awful map app, have even managed to crash out of the App Store more than once!

Start of the slippery slope for Apple into the gutter - damn I just got an iPhone 5 too.

Glad I haven't updated it iOS 6 yet. Seems quite buggy. Will hold off I think. Similarly the recent update for Aperture seems to be very buggy.

Can you elaborate on the Aperture issue Sarah? How old is the update? What are the issues?

Thanks

Paul

Starting? IOS5 had problems too. Apple has replaced Microsoft as the leading cause for baldness among web developers.

It is very buggy, so much so hat it tipped my decision to go buy a Nexus 7 as my next tablet

Paul the update was this last week, it's 3.4 and I think only valid if you have upgraded to Mountain Lion (I haven't yet). Seems to be even Apple are recommending a full reinstall.

Many thanks Sarah. I'll hold off then. I'm 3.3.2 under Mountain Lion (which is worth having just for an option to have the old style Expose!)

The drop down menu issue appears to be rooted in iOS6. I have several browsers, and they are all performing exactly the same.

Other sites, such as eBay, continue to function. Hopefully this is a large enough issue for Apple to fix it. Otherwise, it is up to Langdon. And, oh Langdon, as long as you are there...

May well be due to too many iPhone 5 activations hitting it. I think the App Store is linked to iTunes which is required for activation.

Don't forget to update iTunes also.

Thanks for the heads up. I was researching iOS6 this morning, and like the sound of some of the new functions, but I think I'll wait for the next release.

WWSD?

Proclaim drop down menus are obsolete, and waste battery power, vowing never to support them...

I thought it was me. Glad to know it is the new IOS

We need to create a thread with all the links so we can just click on them to get access to other areas of the site....anyone...anyone :-)

i'm not an apple guy and not sure of everything going on, but last week a friend of mine upgraded her mac to the latest OS and has been in hell ever since. she wasn't able to open any of her MS Office documents (spreadsheets, word docs), and a day later, her whole system completely locked up and wouldn't reboot. she took it to the local MAC Labs yesterday, but i haven't heard yet how she made out. not exactly sure what happened or why, but it would make me cautious about upgrading anything...

has anyone else had problems like this? if so, how did you handle it?
