So far all the suggestions have been pretty darn good. After what Judi has been through, council should be a piece of cake...

But what about Grog? Grog carries a pretty big stick. Him not speak so softly either. Make great enforcer. Break rule, Grog break bones.

I absolutely SUPPORT this idea.

I think bear would be good on the site council

I think it's a bad idea. Kind of along the lines of Wendy's thinking.

Bear is already a tremendous asset to everyone at DPC. He's an invaluable member with tireless participation. Why would anyone want to tinker with that by dumping obligations on him? I'd be concerned that instead of bringing the DPC experience up, it'd bring his own enjoyment down. And at the end of the cliche that'd actually result in a negative effect for DPC.

As has been pointed out, he has indicated a desire to be on the SC (since 2005, actually). If he didn't want to, nobody would be pushing him.

That said, I'm sure the SC is having their secret discussions about it. Meanwhile, let's check in on Langdon...

Look - it would be silly to ignore this thread - I am sure its being discussed in the SC forum, and yes, the site is 10 years old in the very near future, so its an easy one to appoint one or two new members as part of the tenth birthday celebrations - makes sense - but would also be great to see the more vindictive and non-photographic members of DPC SC man up a little bit and hand in their notice. Won't happen though- they like announcing the DQs too much.

I agree...Simms for Site Council. And while we are at it.....I nominate Alex to join the pack and I will even throw my hand up. This site definitely needs some one from the Southern Hemisphere on the board.

Not for me, I enjoy photography too much, so immediately I fall at the first hurdle.

That, and the fact I'm a troublemaker/ne'er do well.

Everyone on SC supports the idea of adding more. We simply need the adminstrative support to make it happen.

How could I have missed this thread?!

So you're saying Langdon needs convincing/finding?

Are you ever going to enter a challenge again Frisca?

Do you think an SC cull is a good idea?

Would love to hear SCs opinion on this...

I'll be frank in my answers:

Langdon needs finding. Seriously AWOL here.

I doubt I will enter again because I only like to take pictures of my kids and of nature and I hate editing photos. I simply don't have the time to devote to becoming a good enough photographer and editor in order to compete here with you all!

We've managed SC membership/culling via natural attrition. I like and respect everyone on SC. I think they do a great job and I'm still with them because I like them so much and I like DPC very much (even if I don't enter challenges I do learn a lot from everyone here).

Honestly, we cannot be expected to take pictures and read. What is this, school?

Reading I can take. It's when people start throwing math around that I have to log off.

Careful now Cory...we want to warn him, not scare him away for good.

Didn't know I had another chemist around here...
