Anyone interested in doing a cell phone camera side challenge? I just recently got hooked on Instagram and I think it would be a fun little sc. I was watching The Grid and someone mentioned that instagram was dull and lacked inspiration. Who is up for shooting something interesting with their cell phones? Each person can choose a theme or they can shoot whatever and post here and if you use instagram we can get more followers to see their work. Who is in?

An example of a recent instagram shot.

yeah, just got a new Galaxy SIII, was planning on using it some to do the odd challenge entry in order to populate the scores screen with it anyways, downloaded instagram and i'll play around with it today.
As far as a theme, i don't know if i'd have anything in particular that i'd continually shoot, but i'll leave it as a free study and just have fun with whatever catches my eye :)

I am give this a go. Most of the pics I have been shooting lately are with instagram. E only bummer is that I don't think I have a way that I can upload directly from my phone. That would make my participation much much easier.

Took me about 10 minutes of trying to "share" the photo from instagram to give up on that concept
the image is still saved into an image folder on the phone, you can navigate to the portfolio on DPC and select to upload from your phone, choose the album and upload it that way.

Tried that too. The upload link doesn't let me do anything, both on my iPhone and iPad. I will probably have to email them to myself to get them on an uploadable device.

I had to use the classic uploader to get mine to go from the phone to here.

I'll join in. I'm still using my iPhone 3g. (It still works!) I'm not crazy abut Instagram. A lot of times I use several different apps until I get something I like.

So I cant upload directly from my phone so what I am doing is saving them from Facebook and then putting them in my portfolio. I find myself shooting way more with instagram than any other camera or camera app. Just in case you all dont know you can set up instagram to save both the cropped edited version and a full size unedited version in your photo folder. Unfortunately it doesnt save proper exif so they are not valid for challenges (shoot in your native camera app first and then edit in instagram for that). But I had caught myself a couple of times wanting to print out what I had caught in instagram and the files were way too small.

Some shots from today -

I take it from MinsoPhoto's first post that Instagram is optional. If that's the case, I'll throw a few camera phone pics in here and there.

Taken and uploaded from the iPhone 4S directly.

The trick i discovered is to use Opera as the browser. However, Opera does not display properly the links to the portofolio etc. So I do open the portofolio link in safari (or Chrome - now available for iOS), copy the URL, paste it in Opera and then click the upload file button. The phone gallery opens and pick up and upload. I did not change the file name...
