Take a picture of architecture which emphasizes the color blue - the field may be blue, or the point of interest may be blue.

Yeah, it does seem like this would be right up your alley... I think you'd definitely bring some serious competition to the challenge.

Well, he does seem to have a rather obvious preference for architectural shots doesn't he?

Took me a minute to figure out what you're berating him... Now of course, I have figured out that you two are in a head-to-head challenge, since I know about it, I would just like to take this opportunity to offer a flaming spiked bat to each of you. ;) Let the games begin. hehe.

ETA: Gotta say though, I do think you've got at least one ringer in your portfolio for this challenge:

If that is true, then I would ask that you two please take note that personal attacks are being looked at here now with much more scrutiny than they have been for months. It would be my suggestion that you two play nice, or go beat each other senseless in the streets if you must, but DPC is not, and shall not be the place for jackassery towards one another.

Now, if you two can please bring this back to a not-too-serious level, and can get into the right spirit, please, carry on and I'll try to find some popcorn.

You are one of those **** Lanndon that makes my blood boil as you did exactly what I was talking about in my opening post in this thread...you antagonised me on purpose and turned this into what it has become and now you are acting all smug and clever-like...

As you see in my previous post, I figured that out.. :)

On the other hand, I do have to note that mocking someone who recently had a bit of a melt-down is rather poor taste in my opinion.

Yes and what is that supposed to mean? What is poor taste and in what way is it in poor taste?

Well, if you were indeed mocking Fred and his melt-down, I would see that as you kicking a man while he is down, and without cause. Poor taste was actually the kindest way I could think of putting it.

he's still doing it. pretty much everything he's said here is a quote from that thread.

I'm off the opinion that everything is fair game, today I had an accident on site tightening the chuck on a right angle drill I lent on the trigger it went off and ripped the top of my middle finger off on my left hand. Got it taped up but spent the rest of the day having the mick taken out of me,

" no finger play for you with the mrs"

"how you gonna pick your nose now"

You idiot etc etc

If you choose to play on the Internet and have a blow out like Fred which has been building for weeks, posting stuff then removing it as he didn't get as much attention as he wanted then yeah it's fair game to take the proverbial out of him.

When was it degreed we all have to be lovey dovey kid gloves on?

The difference should be obvious.. Your mates took the piss out of you in person, to your face. This wasn't at all in the same spirit or of the same nature.

As I see it, when you enter a challenge, the comments are indeed gloves-off fun time.

But the forums are a different matter, this is our public face, and the folks who come here aren't always here for gloves-off mayhem.. That's what /rant is for in the forums... Elsewhere? It's just not appropriate, especially given the fact that I really do perceive this as kicking someone who is down.

When you registered and agreed to follow site rules, specifically Forum Rule #14 -- it seems to rather clearly and specifically address your question.

ETA: I think you meant decreed, at least that's the basis of how I formulated my answer ....

its hard to type with a bandaged hand hehe i was on iphone think it auto corrected me, decreed.

still doesnt imply we have to take everyones very complex background into play, specifically the fred thread cool was that was all said surely that wouldnt break rule 14?

i think if you have deep down issues maybe the internet isnt the best place for you....

but you must recognise that for new users or not so regular its hard to keep track of everyones special needs, like shez capitals etc or freds mental state they cant be expected to give them special treatment.

I honestly thought you were joking this whole time, because your response was so brilliantly comic. I'm still pretty unsure because man, its really funny. If not then I apologize.

When I'm joking I usually tend to include a ;) or a lol, or a hehe, or some other sort of indicator I am joking. In this case I was quite serious.

OK -- time to either talk about the thread topic (a challenge suggestion) rather than each other, or else to lock the thread.

I think what would make this specific challenge interesting, would be minimal editing. That way, there won't be as much a lure to simply take an architecture shot and then pull the pixels to blue in post.

What say you?

you could make that argument for any "color" challenge, who is to stop someone from sticking on a blue filter (if they have one).

fwiw, i think blue is a bad choice consider its the dominant color in the sky, blue is easy for architecture, i say do red or yellow or pink or orange.
