Working on some summer playlists and I'm currently working on one with a feel for classic rock like the Rolling Stones, The Led Zepplin, and The Who, but I need some other music from other groups. Help me think of some of the greats of the age. LOL, actually I also added Black Betty by Tom Jones. How PC is that?

If you're doing American Woman, use the Guess Who version.

How about House of the Rising Sun by the Animals?
some Creedance Clearwater? Fortunate Son
lots of good Deep Purple
The Doors? Roadhouse Blues or Peace Frog maybe?
Johnny Cash is a bit on the edge of that but might be worth a look
The Them- Baby Please Don't Go
Ten Years After- I'd Love to Change the World

Depends if you're going for Classic Rock (which is more 70's rock, I'd say) or if you're including more of the 80's, too. You've got some 90's in there too... so not sure what era you're really looking at...

I was mainly going for a classic rock feel without ballads. I like The Guess Who's American Woman too, but a) I had just used a Who song and b) Lenny's version is a bit more rockish. :)

Fortunate Son is a good idea.

Pepper is probably the least fitting song for the genre, but I went with it anyway.

Thanks for the songs to check out. I don't know all of them.

Or the live version from Miles of Aisles. That's a great album, by the way...

Maybe I missed them in the list of great suggestions, but how about Lynyrd Skynyrd? If you don't want the slower songs like "Free Bird," you could go with "Sweet Home Alabama," "That Smell," "I Know a Little," or "Call Me the Breeze."

It's ok except for I don't wanna miss a thing... the worst Aerosmith song (even if it's a Diane Warren song). I love Aerosmith but that song doesn't represent them ;)

Heck ya! This is going to be one long playlist. I'm never in the car for more than 15 minutes. It will take a month to get through. :)

I'm gonna check a bunch of these songs out, but some I know that will definitely be added:

Sweet Home Alabama - Lynyrd Skynyrd
Born to be Wild - Steppenwolf
Lola - Kinks

That's a personal song for me, I love Aerosmith and many of their songs were so much more prominent in my playlist until I met my wife :) It's our song....
