A top piece of Photoshop editing!

Interesting... Looking at the marks on the surface it appears to be about 1.5 - 2' long. Looks like a Fish and something else merged together. The eye makes it look weird.

I don't think this is photoshop.

Appears to be a Paddlefish...but may be very young which is why the eyes are so large...or could be some fancy PS editing also.

I have an interesting photo taken Thursday, August 5, 2004 at 5:35PM ET over west central Georgia. The family and I were getting into the car to go take pictures when I heard a jet above. When I looked up I saw the large (747) around 25,000 to 30,000 feet up. I quickly turned my camera on and took 3 shots. When I downloaded it to my computer that’s when I seen that the 747 was being escorted by two fighter jets. The one on the left seems to be an F-16 but the one on the right looks like an F-22. So the picture poses a couple of questions.
1.Was the plane being escorted because of a problem?
2.Is the right fighter a F-22 that is not due to be in service until 2005 at the earliest?
Any comments would be great. Just thought this was interesting. Taken with a 12X Optical zoom lens.

That's a deep-sea fish called a Long Nosed Chimaera. I went Googling for an example to post and coincidentally found the original, captioned version of the same photo.

Found this too.

"This species occurs in the South Pacific and off Japan , at depths 700-1300 m. It reaches 1.2 m long. This genus of deep-sea chimaeras goes under different names in different countries. In the USA it is known as a Long-nosed Chimaera while in Europe they use the common name Cyrano Chimaera, named after the fictional French character Cyrano de Bergerac, who had a very long nose. This strange cartilaginous fish uses its long snout to scan over the seafloor for the electrical impulses of its prey that bury in the muddy seafloor, just like a metal detector. Like other chimaeras (such as ghost and elephant sharks), these animals lay horny egg cases in which their young are left to develop, potentially for up to one year."

Here is an image of an adult.

(Sorry, but it isn't very large even if you click on it.)

First of all, the "747" is actually a KC-135 Stratotanker (in-air refueler) which is an aircraft based on the 707 airframe and modified to carry fuel, not people; the plane on the left IS an F-16, but the plane on the right is NOT an F-22, but an F-15. If you look at the silhouettes of both planes, you will notice that they are very similar. A closer inspection of the tail area of the larger craft will show the tell-tale refuel boom, which has a "V" shaped wing that stabilizes the 25 foot boom while in flight. As an Air Force veteran, I'd be curious to know where the pic was taken.

Lastly, I'd like to say "Great shot!"

I thought the angler fish was the scariest f****** creature I've ever seen but this is close runner-up. The ocean is scary.

It could be a Fuckbilledtwatypus, but if not it could be the Spookfish (Rhinochimaera) : )

Here's an interesting Quick Time clip of a similar species. It doesn't have the long nose and it is actually kind of beautiful.

I must agree I can see where the large 4-engine jet could be a KC-135 Stratotanker. But the fighter on the right still does not give me the impression of an F15 or F15E. Maybe it’s distortion because of the distance or angle. What’s throwing me off is the forward facing edge of each wing. The F15 does not have that. But then again we are talking 20,000 or 30,000 ft up. Thanks for your opinion.
