All set for my trip tomorrow. Got my camera and a rented 24-105 (also have the 70-200 I may take in the Animal Kingdom) and 62 Gigs of memory and my laptop if I need to clear a card. So any last tips for shooting? I plan on doing a nice large photo book and have a pretty good idea of want I want to shoot but wanted to see if anyone had any other thoughts. I'll post a few shots in this thread when I get back.

just went in january. you might need the big lens for the AK, but probably not the 105 end might give you enough reach. if you've got room to carry it, though take it.

i usually err on the side of not getting enough pictures of my fmaily but on this trip, i had a pretty good balance. Basically, if I took a picture of the kids, I took another one of something interesting.

Lots of details! Take your time.

At the night laser show at Epcot, we didn't really know where we wanted to stand. A good rule of thumb is that if you can't see the middle of the lake, you are not in a good spot.

The animals are more active during the morning hours, in the afternoons, especially when it is warm, the they tend to head back to the dens to get out of the heat.

I'm heading out there in the fall and in doing some research found this site: //www.disneyphotographyblog.com/ I haven't perused it fully, but it seems to be a good resource.

Got one spare battery and have the chargers so I'm not worried about that.

Thanks for the link James, I had checked that site out. Some really nice stuff.

Look for the "Hidden Mickey's", they are all over the parks and alot of fun to "spot"...when will you be here...I might be able to come out and meet you for some walk around

here are some more Images

It is the Flower and Garden Show at Epcot...some great stuff there...went last wkend...the butterfly exhibit was really good...I could have stayed there for quite sometime...mind you I'd be at least a dress size smaller (it was really hot/humid) not entirely a bad thing...pfffttt

ETA: I do alot of macro shots @ Disney...

I will be going to the parks this Saturday-Thursday. Not sure of which parks which day yet but I got the 6 day pass. I may end up going a lot in the future if we end up in Orlando. House is on the market so it's just a matter of when it sells and where we find a place in Fl

Yea!!! This is a great area...lots of things to see and do...what are your dates that you'll be here...this Saturday? If that's the case maybe Monday/Tue would work best for me...and because I live here it doesn't matter which park I go to...

Made it here. Yes Ja-9 I am here now through thursday. The plan as of now is doing an afternoon evening at Holywood studios Monday and possibly the Animal Kingdom Tuesday.

4 days in and over 1000 shots. It is much harder getting "good" shots than I thought. Horrible light, since the kids like going early and are done by 6. Crowds of people, running and shooting etc... Plus I love the 24-105 but am really missing fast glass especially on some of the darker rides. But the 24-105 is definitely the way to go. On to the Animal Kingdom next and will take my 70-200 along with but not sure if I will be taking the 24-105 off the body.

Made it back home and had a great time with the kids. I think I got some great shots to make a photo book but more important had a wonderful time with the kids. Downloading the photos now then editing and deciding which photo book to order. Leaning towards a blurb book right now unless someone has another suggestion, I could do a KISS book but they are quite expensive.

I've done blurb, and wasn't impressed. I actually like the ones I get from shutterfly. And the fun part is, once you order one from them, they start sending you all kinds of offers. I've been getting a free book about once a year, lots of cards, etc.

try to get in club 33
it is rather hidden because it is exclusive
only for freemasons
the only place they serve alcohol
if you can take some photos inside
you can write your own ticket

i am partial to My Publisher, i haven't tried any others. they always have specials running. pophoto.com ran a comparison a year or so back and kodak got the best print ratings and my publisher and shutterfly came in next in overall experience.

kodak's software is terrible.
