Hope you can make it, some of the models are the same age as you. I don't drink myself, so I'm up for non-adult only lunch.

I had to reschedule my son's birthday party, which happens to be at 11 am, so if we are going to meet up at the Arboretum after lunch, then I have a good chance of heading out to that, around 3 ish or so? Is that a definite, the Arboretum part?
05/02/2012 04:06:04 AM · #80
I'd say yes. It is definite. Hope to see you there.

Rumor has it, and yes it is just a rumor mind you, that it is suppose to be nicer weather this Sunday. I won't hold my breath but maybe, just maybe Steve Poole will get it correct? We shall see...

Okay, just to be clear about what we have scheduled I think we have the following?
______________________________________________

11-1PM, Studio Shoot in Belltown (Downtown)

Lunch in between

3PM, Meet at the Arboretum Visitors Center (pray for good weather)
______________________________________________

Is the above correct? I will do my best to make it to both, but the latter event would be more likely doable for me.

I made a reservation at Old Spagetti Factory, 2801 Elliott Ave., at 1:30 for 20 people. I asked for one check which I will take care of, you can just pay me for your ticket, as I will be paying for the models lunch. Just to make it easier. If we have more or less they can fix us up.

Have fun guys! Would have been fun to see the crew again.

Shhhh, don't talk about the weather or you'll jinx it!!! :-)

While on the subject of it, I hope it's clear on Saturday night, so we can see the Supermoon!!

I will shoot the super moon from Kerry Park on Friday night, the moon will rise farther south, and if lucky, pass right behind the Space Needle, which can be cool, if the weather is right.

I have always admired your Seattle images. I can't wait to see this one!

Dang, would love to get in on one of these sometime... I have softball games that day, but someday would love to meet everyone. Have fun!

Darn! I won't be staying at my place Friday night Frank- otherwise I could have run the couple of blocks over to the park to meet with you. Hope you get some good shots!

Brent/Frank, don't you mean Saturday night?

Frank mentioned Friday Heather, possibly meaning Saturday? I will be around Saturday but might need to be elsewhere to shoot something for the Empty challenge since it is for the second round of the BYOA KO which I am doing. Kerry Park will be anything but empty on Saturday night! I'm pretty burned out on it actually, and the classic city view from there is ruined right now by an unfinished large apartment building near the Needle. The Needle does look unusual painted with an orange top now though...

Friday has a more southern rise bringing the moon behind the needle, the moon will be almost full, the earlier rise will make a redder moon. BTW, here is an updated model list for Sunday.

Ah I see Frank, you did mean Friday night.

As for the orange glow on the Space Needle, it is because they are celebrating the 50th anniversary, and the orange light was on it when it first opened.
05/03/2012 02:48:49 AM · #95
If I remember correctly, I think I read that they are repainting the top of the needle to the same color as when it opened originally, to celebrate the anniversary. They will repaint it back to white in a few months.

Correct - It is currently orange.

As is no surprise to me unfortunately, it looks like I will have to work much of the weekend. I'm going to try to at least make it to the Arboretum meet later in the afternoon, hope lots of people make it to the studio shoot and have fun with that :)
