I know that this site is devoted to all things digital but I still enjoy using my film cameras - particularly my Polaroids. I recently purchased the Impossible Project film and shot a couple of boxes of a model and loved it. As it my habit, I shot most of the photos in Digital and included a few of the Polaroids throughout the time. Just curious about whether other people on this site still enjoy using Polaroids and whether you have tried the Impossible Film. I saw one other thread regarding Polaroids but it was from 2010. I just started a blog today that will cover all things photography but I started with my experience using this film.

Ben ( bspurgeon) and I are probably the primary Impossible users here. Hopefully we can add you to the short list!

This thread is still active. I posted to it the other day:

As for myself, I bought some PZ680 Color Shade last week for a Polaroid Spectra that my wife found at a thrift store. She was impressed with herself for finding the camera for a dollar -- less impressed to hear that the film cost $30.

Yes, I'm still using my SX70, but have had repair problems. My last pack of the original color shade was terrible. I have 3 packs of the PX70 Color Shade, the first of which jammed my camera. Thankfully Impossible sent me an instructions on the repair and work around using the PXShade. Post your work in the thread Brian linked.

Thank you both for replying! That is great. I will check out the other forum and begin posting my work also. In addition, I'm starting a project of taking photos using the Impossible film, the old Polaroid Stock and digital images. I will post the results to my blog there daily once I get the shipment of Impossible Film.

I wish I had held onto my older film cameras. I think it is a style that many of us have come to lose appreciation for (at least when it comes to shooting personally). I, for one, have come to love the instant gratification for seeing a photo on my LCD screen as soon as I snap a shot, then, should my intent be an aged image, I will edit the image to achieve the result I am looking for.

Long ago are the days when I shot with film... but I do remember being like a kid on Christmas morning when the film was processed.

I enjoyed the blog. Keep it up! :)

Shake It: A Modern Polaroid Love Story ... home site of an interesting radio program I heard on NPR ... includes an interview with one of the founders of The Impossible Project ...

Originally posted by Program Synopsis:

Taking a Polaroid picture is a totally sensory experience. But it is more than just the sensation of a snapshot; there is something special and social about seeing, giving and receiving that white-framed photo. For a moment, the Polaroid looked like it was on its way out, forever to be forgotten. But in recent years, it has become clear inspiration for digital photography apps and memes, reigniting a nostalgic devotion across the world.

In "Shake It: A Modern Polaroid Love Story," we look at the human and visual connections that the famed instant film has inspired. Hear from experts and enthusiasts such as Christopher Bonanos, author of Instant: The Story Of Polaroid, David Bias, vice president of The Impossible Project, and director Gus Van Sant who has used Polaroid photos regularly in his creative process.
