i am confused. I didn't enter the competitino. this isn't an 'outtake'.....this is a 'if I had activated my account (hence the title)...this would ahve been my shot'

sorry for breaking any rules......

I've had that happen before, I dont know why but you cant even show a shot you watned to enter while a challenge is in voting. Not sure what harm it would do, seems a little anal to me.

The reason is that discussion of the outtakes may in fact affect how people vote the entries. Discussion of outtakes was allowed at one time, and there was a lot of hand-wringing over whether the discussions were affecting peoples attitudes. The conclusion was that it was best to delay discussion of outtakes until the conclusion of voting.

I understand and apologize for breaking the rule.

I must have my terminology mixed up because I don't nderstand how it is an outtake if I am not entered in that challenge...

Not arguing...I am not upset..just wondering. ;)

The bottom line is you are asking people to compare it to what is in a current challenge. That is what makes it an outtake, entered or not. If you had posted that same picture in the thread with the holiday cards no one would have batted an eye. Obviously you couldn't have used the picture as it was (with text) for the challenge you suggested it be compared against, but people will still compare it.
