I do a lot of batch processing using filters such as Topaz adjust. After upgrading to Topaz Adjust 5, I found that my batches took significantly longer to run.

It's not really a big issue, I can still use TA4 for batches, but I'd expect software such as this to get fasster, not slower.

Interesting. I haven't tried running batches with Adjust 5 yet, but I thought the overall new GUI seemed faster. Not sure why the batch processing would be slower.

On my PC, I'm seeing a lot more CPU load with 5 than with 4 while running batches.

I think its slower for single images as well.

how is 5? (other than slower)...I just love 4 and haven't upgraded yet, is it worth it?

More than worth it (especially since it's free). The new presets are really great starting points (and many are actually useful without extra tweaks). There are tons of new creative editing options, and the results are pretty fantastic. The day it came out I re-edited a photo that I previously edited with Adjust 4. I was happy with my Adjust 4 edit, but then the Adjust 5 edit blew it away.

Personally I have seen a slow down, but then again my computer is already kinda slow.

It could be because 5 is more complex in architecture (ie, they're adding in more functionality from their other plug-ins).

5 slower on mine than 4, is there away to keep the background process running rather than starting and stopping for each image i choose to edit in aperture?

takes a minute or more to load up each time?
