I'd looked into funding, and I've gotten grants for previous projects I've done, but it's really tough to get photojournalism grants when you haven't made a single image for a project. I also wanted to see if I could get contributors who actively had an interest in the project as I wanted to do it. It's a cool process, seeing these people chip in and it brings a different dynamic to the project. Depending on how this goes, however, I may look into grants to get back there. Grants usually take 6-12 months to go through the pipeline as well, and well, I'm just hoping that by taking this more into my own hands I can get around bureaucracy as well.

I've been working on making contacts but only have certain outlets so the more people I can meet the better, I'm looking for any kinds of stories - those of drastic change and also those who may not have experienced much change. Once I get the fundraising done I will really spend most time before I leave building more contacts.
