Update: Week 5 has been update to include the Sunday Night Members Challenge and Tuesday Nights Open Challenge.

Just a reminder that this week will be the results of Week 5 and next week will be a bye week for all teams. Challenges, Pink III, Coin Slot, and Apple III will not count towards the WPL due to the bye week and challenge "Day and Night" will not count; it was the voided challenge of week three.

Week Six will begin with Sunday Midnight Members Challenge, Natural Body of Water.

Due to the lack of participation in the first challenge of week 5, I will only update the Scoreboard tonight and wait to update team pages later in the week.

I also would like to that everyone for visiting the WPL site. I know compared to real site standards this is not a lot but for the little WPL site we just topped 15000 page views in 4 weeks.

Here is a map of visitors.

Thanks everyone!
Scott

Bloody brilliant Scott.
15,000 in four weeks is a tribute to all the effort you're putting in here. I for one am having a struggle entering every challenge but I'm having a ball with the ones that I can.

Well done indeed!!

Update: Week 5 has been update to include the Sunday Night Members Challenge and Tuesday Nights Open Challenge.

WPL Week 5 Update here.

IMPORTANT QUESTION FOR ALL TEAMS

I have had a few teams contact me asking if the WPL would allow substitutions for players that are not participating in the WPL.
I have updated the macro to allow this but I wanted to ask each team what there position is on this subject. So the question is:

1. Are you in favor of allowing teams to substitute players that have not participated or are no longer able to participate?
2. If so, each team will only be able to replace two players. All substitutions must be made during next weeks by week.
Please post in this thread by Friday, midnight:11/14, if your team thinks is fair. (Yes or No)

Saturday I will get with each team on the discussion.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott, the site is great. With traffic like that, I think you should sell ad space to compensate you for all of your hard work! Thanks.

Hey that's a good idea. Maybe I could earn enough to get a cheep dslr and a walkabout lens.

Drive by shooters have absolutely no problem with allowing substitutions!

One question, however: This is only if a player can no longer participate, correct? They can't gang up and decide to kick me out and replace me with IreneM, right...? :o)

Replacing a NON-participating Player

In all fairness I feel it should be up to each team to recruit there replacement. Also I feel it to be beneficial that the team PM the participant that is being dropped even if the team has not been able to contact them. That way the team captain and team can not be accused of dropping a player and the player saying they were not notified. Just make sure you keep a record of your PM.

I am leaving it up to the teams. However, I have set a few rules.
1. No player can be recruited by team that was dropped from another team.
2. The mid-season bye week is the only time a team will be able to drop and recruit another player.
3. Each team can only replace two players.
4. If the player opposes being dropped the team must give me good reason for the teams decision.
5. A player can NOT be dropped based on their scores!

Thanks,
Scott

Oh, c'mon. I was ready to snap up vawendy the moment her team replaces her with Irene...along with a signing bonus! (we'll figure something out)

I am rubbing my eyes here this morning and probably need more coffee, but I may be the first person from my team to see this thread and I just read the rules above. The mid-season bye week is mentioned as a time for teams to make a change, but we are shooting for the second half of the season now. Am I still asleep and dreaming? Did I oversleep for a week? Confused! :P

:) No you didn't oversleep. Your correct two of the three challenges for week six have been announced.

Thanks Scott, whew! ;) So am I correct to assume that if any teams made changes to their roster this has already been done? Because if I read the rules correctly the week for making changes has since gone by... ?

I think what he's after is that the substitutions have to be made before the voting starts on the week-5 challenges, so we won't have people asking potential teammates "What's your score in Body of Water looking like? How about Babies?"

Subs will have to be in place by midnight this Sunday, is the way I read it, 'cuz that's when "water" rolls over.

Once again you are correct Robert, thanks for helping me explain.
All substitutions must be PM'ed to me before Sunday Night. The sooner the better!

Thanks everyone,
Scott

While we are talking about the WPL there are a couple of people I would like to thank openly for there help. Without them the WPL would not be possible. Thank you Kirbic for taking the time to create a macro to help obtain the scores so I would not have to do it manually; an impossible task. And, thank you Bear_Music, you have helped me with wording the rules for the WPL and the FSM to help others understand. You have also taken time to explain what I have written (in southern slang) so most everyone could understand. I want to thank the both of you, the WPL and FSM would not be possible without your help.

I also want to thank all the users that participate.

Thanks to everyone,
Scott
