Dammit! I you're only ever so slighty ahead of me!
You can always self-dq yourself, Wendy :-) I don't mind.

Haven't looked through the images yet. But challenged with around 150 entries are always competitive.

There, there, now... I'm starting to drop chunk by chunk, just for you!

Getting there. I'm off to work, but I will try to rate some from the office too. Some great entries in this challenge!

don't rush to throw in the towel i'm currently sitting below my average

I'm way below my average for this one, getting loads of comments but they all bring me lower, it seems like the voting is more than a bit strange on this, must be the WPL effect.

in our pm's i just wondered aloud how long before we started hearing about the "wpl effect". i guess i was the first to complain about it technically :)

Like Wendy, I also disagree. These challenges that ask us to use something creatively that are usually flaws cause us to stretch and get out of the box.

Well, I have two lenses, both L glass, yes, I painfully spent what it took to have a professional setup, but I am working full time as a photographer. I event tried to put some plastic wrap on my lens, doubled my UV's etc, but I still do not see much benefit in trying to crap up my equipment to capture a flaw. As I said, it is a worthwhile effort to work to make a flaw a asset, but to try to take a bad image, is just the worst form of art. I looked at the entries, and I find them generally painful to look at. Mine is only ok at best. Seems a major step back to explore a basic flaw that I do not ever have to deal with during my normal photography. We all are allowed at least one opinion each, this is mine, I realize others will have different ones, thats cool. I did try to make a decent flare shot, but my gear is designed to prevent them. It reinforced no direct sun shots for me.
Sitting a 4.76 with a thoughtful baghead comment (thanks). But I was not gonna let bergiekat win our round of BYOAKC unopposed!!!

Oh come on Kimon, it wasnt that bad ;-)
I used my 5D2 and 24-105 L and got a nice big flare. I had to hold it at a certain angle to the light to get a flare but I managed. Try something different for a change. Live a little. Be daring. Shooting the same thing over and over again always with the same style can get boring. This site helps keep it interesting... well it does for me anyway. I'm sorry if it doesnt work for you

I just got a nice comment saying my shot was one of their top picks... but my score went down with only one vote increase... Seeing as you not a paperbag voter consider yourself warned! The Village Burners will come knocking on your door soon! Mwahahaha

I know you're joking, shooter, but I don't think it's good practice to associate recent votes with recent comments. The two are quite often completely unrelated for a multitude of reasons.

Quite correct about the joking part - but my team would still like to burn something down...

Yep, someone trying to raise their own score or that of a classmate/friend.

Just got a comment making suggestions so something might happen, which apparently they didn't look very close as was already happening. OMG! And they gave me a 4!

Yeah, woke up and had a look...I was rather shocked, I guess many voters are having a case of the Mondays. ;-)
