Yesterday and today my # of comments keeps changing. I don't know which stat changes, # of comments received or # of comments marked helpful, but something is going on. I only keep track of the last 2 digits and they used to be 4 off, now they're fluctuating a couple of times a day.

I noticed this too. I only look at the difference between the two, and I noticed it went from 13 to 12 without any intervention from me.

ETA: Just looked again and it's gone to 11, it looks like my comments not marked as helpful are either marking themselves or being removed!

There was a blip at rollover time, the site was taken down for 30 - 40 mins and it seems that since then there have been a few anomalies :)

I received a grand total of 185 comments of which 187 are set as helpful.
The opposite would be correct.

This actually started happening before roll over. I was going crazy trying to figure it out yesterday and gave up. I also had a set difference between numbers, so I knew when to look for new comments. Now it's just whacked.

Yup. It started yesterday.

# Received: 5,376
# Helpful: 5,380

I like comments so much, I mark them as helpful before I even receive them! :D

Average Vote Received is also not updating. Mine has not moved all morning and with the score I'm getting in a current challenge (4.xxxx) my avg vote rcvd should be falling like a rock.

Same issues for me too.

Funny you should mention that, I kept looking at mine thinking with the score I'm getting there should be some impact and was curious as to why there wasn't. Never struck me it wasn't updating though!

Mine hasn't moved since yesterday. I know where it's headed though.

I am pretty sure that some of the site stats only update at roll-over, or once weekly, or on some other schedule.

To update everyone's lifetime average vote received every time a vote is cast for one of their entries would probably require a Cray to keep up ... :-(

I don't know what's happening with the comment numbers, but if you've marked a comment as helpful, and the commenter returns and edits the comment, the "helpful" box becomes un-checked again.

Actually, the lifetime average does update with each vote. My husband watches it all the time and comments on it. And I've watched it too. It's broken, sorry.

And so are the comments. There should be no way that you have more comments marked helpful than comments received. :)

Well, then, maybe the air conditioning for the Cray got too expensive with the recent heat wave ... ;-)

Don't know what's wrong then ... I guess we'll all have to wait for an update fromt he boss ...

This is the start of the end, woman and children first... The machines are taking over.

ummm... women and children first for elimination or saving? Depending upon the answer, I might not want to go first...

I have been noticing my comments received/helpful are all out of whack...and they do update each time I get a comment and as soon as I mark it helpful. I only have a variance of 2 helpful vs received...one is a comment that I made back to someone by mistake and the other is from a major "jerk-off" otherwise all my comments should keep up with each other...I hadn't noticed the voting but then voting on Patterns is painfully slow therefore I wouldn't notice...sigh

Damn it you saw through my plan to save myself.

Do they still make Cray computers or are you just showing your age?
07/27/2011 02:38:00 PM · #19
I'm not sure ... :-(

i notice my avg vote received stat hasn't updated today, and belive me my 3.x performance in senses should have been reflected.

eta: just bothered reading the earlier thread entries. redundant redundant redundant. sorry

Yes, they still exist. See the Cray Web Site.

The Wikipedia says "On May 24, 2011, Cray announced the Cray XK6 hybrid supercomputer. The Cray XK6 system, capable of scaling to 500,000 processors and 50 petaflops of peak performance, combines Cray's Gemini interconnect, AMD's multi-core scalar processors, and NVIDIA's many-core GPU processors."

In the early 1990s I had an account on a Cray for some research I was doing on chaotic cryptography.

I was reading the Wikipedia article, it looks like they've gone through many transitions and they're now just (hugely) overgrown x64 machines running Linux.

boy - things are still really buggered...has anyone sent in a ticket to SC? I don't want to repeat what's already been done...

You would need to submit an Administrative Ticket directly to Langdon -- SC members have no more knowledge of or control over this type of issue than you do ...

I sent one in (an administrative ticket), but I already bugged Langdon so much over the last few weeks (working out the DQ), that he probably doesn't want to see my name for awhile. :)
