About time!
Available here on Microsoft.com. Just posted yesterday. Looks like it supports all the major makes and models, and the Canon list looks fairly complete.

Yawn.... Too late... Have used some 64Bit 3rd party ones for - well - forever now.

This is nice... but will it be bug-free, or MS style with not-so-desirable "features"? :-)

Just in case you didn't read the system requirements (as myself), it only works for Vista SP 2 and up - no support for XP...

Thanks for the heads-up, Steve.

I just installed it and it didn't even make me close any programs or reboot.
It simply installed peacefully and quickly, and looks all happy now :-)

You have 64 bit XP? That's a rare animal.

I've also been using a 3rd party codec. Fast Picture Viewer. It does seem to lock up my system if I use it to review large quantities of RAw files, however.

Naturally, I'm the only one that has problems with it. Can see thumbnails, but no preview available in the right click menu.

my nephew says this "just make sure to unclick toolbar installs during the installation, thats where stuff gets fury" ...what could that mean? LOL

Maybe they had not build yet. Try again as mine work.

I think he is warning you against freeware that installs "helpful" toolbars. I've seen people with browsers that had toolbars stacked 5 deep because they installed applications that had them and they did not pay attention to the installer's messages. Then they didn't know where these things came from or how to get rid of them.

A Microsoft item like this will not have those.
